Hackers
Jellyfish and his buddies somehow got one of a SL's account and tried to get onto rc. The account is LegendOfGeovanie and they used trainers to get the account banned on a few servers.

The moral of the story? That's what happens when you download a trainer. |

Yeap, poor Matrix, that's what he gets for trusting those people too -.-

The account should be disabled anyway, it's in violation of the sharing rules.
|
Hey, if you kids were adding ip ranges and only giving level 4 rights to ONE MANAGER this wouldn't happen.

edit: and matrix with level 4 RC? hahaha he only wishes |

Read the actual post next time before responding. |
I read this post not the one for SL because I am lazy. No one cares if the account was hacked, just tell Lyndzey.

Or at the very least, be informed of what's going on. |

Seriously...i think we should bring back inspections, like what was it, HR Admins or something?

Stop confusing "cracking" with "hacking". Seriously.

Matrix's ip range was set, so there was no chance they could get on, even with their magical "ip spoofers" . I was making this aware to any staff that sees that account online and such. And I am also aware of the fact that they tried to get a scripting job on Frolic, I don't know if successfully, but obvisously to get NC and wipe out all their npcs.

That account was banned on Doomsday.
|
sort of off-topic, but am I the only one who has a problem with the atlantis/doomsday ban messages?

Ip cloakers/morphers could of allowed this person to gain access onto RC.

. I hate hackers :(.

Be aware that the original sense has been there before medias started to abuse the word. Also, "programmer" does not equal "hacker". There is more of a "culture" and "philosophy" behind hackers, while programmers are merely people creating programs. |

They don't have to change their "title", but they shouldn't expect everyone to abandon an easily remembered/easily understood term for absolutely no reason. |

It's annoying that the meaning of the term 'hacker' has been warped by the media, but it's not Joe Average's fault. The real hackers are expecting millions of people to change their lexicons, but that's inconsiderate. It would be simpler for the hackers to change their titles.

I banned that account before i even read this thread. |

I don't expect anything from "hackers". And as I said before, if they wish to escape popular reference then they should change their title rather than expect the greater majority to change it's phrasing. The latter will simply not happen. |
