Server has been reset, and it already needs another reset?
What in the ****. I log on 2k1 (bomy moon) tonight, and there's a ton of people on. Within minutes I find out that some houses and bomies have already been auctioned. What are you guys thinking? Jobs are exactly the same, except now you get less money from them, and you're already making certain players rich by auctioning off rare things like houses and bomies on the first day.
You should have waited at least 5-7 days before starting auctions, that way people could have at least prepared and tried to save up money. |
I can't but help feel a little sarcasm coming on.
You mean i had to lose my bomy and stuff just so they could reset it and make someone else richer than me? </sarcasm> |
I think I'm the only one who actually agrees with you Koni.
It's not fair-as it is now the only ones who can afford bomies and such are staff and other high ranking people. It doesn't give the rest of us a chance. I mean most people I see either don't even have a sword yet or just got one. And these people have frikkin bomies and houses! I opt for a reset! Let's do it fair before it gets too messed up. |
The early bird gets the worm, AND the second mouse gets the cheese. I think it'll work.
|
No reseting again would screw it. Only 2 phs were auctioned and the rent is like 150+ a week...I doubt anyone can afford to maintain that for long and bomies..well...there's 100s of them, I say auction off like 25% of the bomies now =/
|
High Staff people?
like 2% of the staff own a bomy, and there isn't a staffer who owns a house. ----------- The house auctions were fair. We bought ours for 150g... or around 19 pies. Everyone had a fair oppertunity to gain money and auction their money, or they could've done what I did... join funds with a friend to buy a house. Think of it like a Stock Market. When the business is starting off, you invest your money into it. When it grows, you sell your investments and gain more money. So GBM is a new server so you invest a small ammount into a house and/or bomy, so when GBM grows... you can spend that investment. |

As CheeToS said, we're more busy working on the server than working for money. So don't blame it on us.
|
Don't blame it on anybody. It's not the fault of people who work (I have 424g) that we are able to buy playerhouses and bomies. I myself have been working ever since the reset. If you don't want to work hard for that initial investment, you shouldn't make it at all. The economy reset was to balance out the economy, and I think it's done a very good job of that by lowering all of the prices. While some things aren't going as good as they could of, or as smoothly, I think that the reset was a very educated idea and that this server (Graal Bomy Moon) is slowly becoming very nice to play again.

Two staff apart from Police/FAQ/ET/Auctioneer have bomies, for your information Konidias.
Cloud Strife, who paid a pretty penny to get it (secondhand, as I recall) Me, and I have to have one since I am oftentimes messing with the script. Why I started the auctions so soon is simple. To give people something to work for. |
I also have to agree with Jeff here. There's nothing wrong with people having to work for bomies, staff or not. Everyone should have a fair opportunity. Last night Ghost Pirate got back his old bomy because of public donations. I thought that was fine. You can make exceptions for certain players if all of the players there agree, but you can't just give everyone their old bomies back. I believe a while back someone posted a list of all the bomies and their respective accounts, and a lot of the accounts were inactive, so it was hard to get a bomy for all these new players who had a lot of money. The economy is coming out well, and if you don't like the auctions, well... you don't have to come, but just don't start crying a river later when you don't have a bomy and want one and there are none to be sold.

I'm just upset that 2k1 finally gets reset and I can barely tell any difference from before. If you're going to reset, at least make some big changes or something. I lose all my stuff and now I have to work 100 times harder doing the same jobs I did over a year ago? Sounds... unfun. Yeah well I heard Ghost Pirate already has 2 bomies too... :| By the way, there was some dumb PKer with the account MrCharles who was constantly trying to kill me for a solid 15 minutes. He would follow me and say "die?" and I was like "no?". :( |
Put up with MrCharles before. He likes to kill people because he lost all of his kills before. He sits in the unstick me place and traps you in, pretty much, though he'll deny it and starts killing you. He'll claim he'll let you go after one kill and never kill you again but he never does, so most of the time I just pause or leave the area when he's around.

As long as money doesn't go out of controll and prices rise to unbearble heights (Except for really rare stuff, like some 2-of-a-kind hats or somthing,)) the economy will stay OK.
|
I noticed some people only finding out that BM was reset today.
I agree with Koni 100%, you have to be more careful planning what is going to be given out and when. |
Still, only a l33t few have enough money for auctions and such.
Alot of people didn't even realize it had been reset. I myself was just waiting for a reset to reupgrade-and hadn't realized it until 2 days ago. That was too late-there's no way to get enough money to compete that late. Bomies and houses need to wait to be auctioned, about 2 weeks or so after. And in this case, I'd say a month. It's extremely hard to get ANYTHING whatsoever, and most people are too busy trying to just get a sword to save up for a bomy/ph. Swords are extremely hard to get now, what with needing gold and money being so rare. The shop prices need to be lowered. The hat prices are good, but the mining and other important tools were forgotten about. 80g is alot to pay for an axe now :/ Though that is a different subject My point being most people are too busy dealing with over expensive things and hard to get money to even TRY to save up for a bomy. We need another reset-do it right this time. |

I agree about the shop thing... tools are still the same price as before, there isn't much change in the economy besides gralats being harder to get (and trust me, they won't stay that way for long). All you're doing is restarting 2k1 as it was before. 6 months from now everyone will have thousands of gralats and nothing to spend them on but new hats or something. You should have set a money standard for the gralat, so there would be balance. Like for example, 1 gralat = 1 US dollar, then it at least makes sense... I've never seen 50+ dollar fishing bait before. Not all of the prices are unreasonable... it's just that you've done nothing but make things harder to get now, and the jobs are no funner then they were before. |
Sorry about that. I get tired a lot of times, when I made that post I think I must have just gotten done auctioning bomies.
And I imagine that if there were such thing as a reusable, everlasting fishbait, it'd cost at least $50. No offense, but people would take your comments a bit more seriously if you said "more fun" instead of "funner" |

I agree with both sides of the party, seeing as both of them are right.
Konidias is correct, seeing as the bomies WERE auctioned too early. I have 2 gralats to my name, and its not because I don't work, its because I don't play graal as much anymore. A lot of Graalians have something else to do with their day, such as school, work, or something else. The select few who have nothing to do are lucky, and its not very fair. On the other hand, resetting again won't do much, seeing as this is just one pety detail, in how many other problems GBM has. by the time is was perfect it would have been reset to many times to count. I guess my 2 cents is pretty much wait a little bit longer before you auction anything else off. |

those people without lives and such who live to earn money... will continue to do that untill they are happy. So no matter what, those few people will continue to beat you with money. Secondly, there is a term in economics which I'd like to point out inflation. In 1000 AD how much do you think a 1x1 foot of metal would cost? Like... half of a penny. Now it'd cost around $15.00 When the economy grows, supply and demand takes shape. when that happens, inflation goes up. Because surpluses of money increases inflation... you cant go "Lets base it off of a $1 bill". |
I don't quite remember who wrote that only staff have enough for a bomy, but I'd like to disagree with you on that. Us staffers have been pretty busy lately and some of us haven't even had time to earn money. It's been quite a few days since the reset and I still only have 5 gralets to my name. :\

Add me Jeff :D
I was up until 4am last night with Vlad mining. Then today I bought Geno's Bomy from him. The hard part is getting up to the mining. Once you get there its not to bad. In my opinion the jobs are unbalanced. I fished all week and it took me at least an hour to get 10g. In an hour with mining I could get about a 100g. I would rather fish but not when the prices are so unbalanced. Also saying all the bomies and player houses have been auctioned off is a major exageration. I think its around 5 bomies or so and 1 or 2 player houses. Now if you look at all the player houses and bomies still available hardly anything has been sold yet. :] Also as for nothing new. I'm working on new kingdom levels but not uploading them until all of them are done. I spent most of today working on orc's becase we only had 2 levels will make a couple more then I'll start on Inra. :) |

This is exactly WHY I posted that they should have not auctioned them so early. Perhaps the rich person will pay 300 for a bomy, but not 3000. Quote:
Actually, 1x1 foot piece of sheet metal would cost MORE back then, due to mining technology at the time. But yeah, I see your point. In this case, you would have an everchanging money growth. Each time the dollar bill grew, the gralat would, and vice versa. |

The object of economics is to gain money and then spend it. Personally I think there should be like a small tax on things. Like each week the NPC server goes through the accounts and deducts a certain percentage of gralats that person has (if you have a key then the tax is shorter because you're spending money allready). And after that it can find gralats on the ground (if it cant be done remotely... then you can make an invisible NPC which scouts the whole land and eats stray gralats). There should be a minimum on the taxes too... like 200g, when you get over 200g taxes start to happen. If you do my tax system... then things will stay at a low price, and you wouldn't have to worry about inflation. Because if you inflate the prices, you have to inflate the wage (meaning if everything goes up +50% Bread Baking would be 2g, pies would be 16g, etc). So then there is just a constant surplus of gralats. Some of you will come on here, "Nu I werked hard 4 me chasmoneyz. I dun want tax!". Well guess what... in the long run your money is screwed without this system =x. With a tax system you'll have to gain a weekly income or something. Or you can just go under 200g. If you have something that ADDs to your moneycount, then you need something that SUBTRACTS from your money count. Simple as that. |
I like the tax system. It would be annoying, but it's logical.
|
The tax sytem is perfect, it's what the old bomy moon was missing.
|
Hehe, i make my money from people :D

Am I the only one who doesn't think Bomy Moon was made to be a stock market? The Economic factor is nice, but I hardly think it was made to be the point of the server.
Bomy Moon? Heck, why not Capalist moon? We can have a new quest on the former "Bomy Moon" where you need to get as many people as you can to buy real estate in a set amount of days! Woohoo! |
