Staff Of the Month.
 

I've had this idea for some time, Each month I go around every single server and a Manager Picks there Best Staff. Then i go over there work till i have a final 2. And then Graal Picks.

Rules:
The person would have to work there one month,Cant win twice in a row,Cant be a Manager or Co-Manager.

Prize:Free Domain and 1 Year of hosting Provided by Azuretek Hosting LLC. Or a 3 Month Gold Upgrade.

I think this might give a little something to work for? I dont know its just a idea.

Say everyone chooses Upgrade thats like $210+ a year, its not much over a year, but its still alot.

Maybe Unix will give some for free if your lucky?

Staff of the Month
12 months per Year

$40 x 12 = $480

She upgrades a 3 month account every month.

More than one person will be upgrading for three months though.

Also Angel, Will this be for Open PWs + UC PWs, or just Open. I think just Open, not because UC don't work. But because then the players can actually go and see the work of who ever has won.

Okay we belive you, and yes. Then people can get noticed for their work. Which would be great. As until now work went un-noticed.

Only problem is, if we have 2 people up for it, one form a PW that gets an average of 10players a day, and one from 120 a day it wouldn't be fair. So maybe you should vote as

Player A
Player B

And show their work etc.. And they cant say who they are, that way who they are doesn't matter but for what they do!

I love the idea. I can see some Managers finding ways to abuse it, but you'll probally find a way to hold that to a minimum.

Also, The idea about the community voting on the best staff seems more like a popularity contest rather than a way to pick the hardest working staff :\

Maybe even a section of the website can have previous winners dont know need to talk to unixmad tonight. Also the two players would give a speach why they should be picked and show some work prolly. And i dont know about voteing yet i might end up picking a panel of judges. Im not 100% on how it will work thats why im asking

Maybe all the Managers expect the ones from the servers of the two staff could be the judges?

I think it would be better with no panel, that way its more interactive and fun for the players. PWA Panel can decide on the final 2, then players vote.

Or maybe people can vote for someone and say why they want to nominate them. Instead of you going to Managers. Or maybe Managers vote for a staff is worth 2 votes?

if ur gonna have judges then u can ask Nemesis and Stefan to judge as well as urself or something like that.

I think it is a good idea all the same. Although it could turn into a popularity contest, and some staff can secretly make deals with people on the server to vote for them, but I'm sure u would take that into consideration.

Things I see that need to be looked at on chosing the best Staff Member,

1. Online time (not idle time , time where they were working not idling or chatting.)
2. Ability to do the job they were hired to do
3. Player interaction
4. How well they deal with problems on server
5. Helpfulness to players as well as other Staff.



Online time does not mean the most time spent online but time spent wisely when they are on and abide by at least the server minimum (Npulse is 3x a week for at least a total of 10 hours a week). Ability to do what they are hired to do no matter what position that may be. Be able to interact with the players in a calm helpful manner. Be able to work under adverse conditions without losing their cool and taking it out on the players, like being very busy and getting tons of PMs and yet are courteous and helpful even under stress of all the PMs. These are just a few things I think you need to look at, to get the best person for the prize.

Problems
 

Everyone would want to become staff, and, chances are, bug the staff around. It's good on paper, but I doubt it would be good in practice.

I guess GP's, FAQ's, and Events Team are going to have to really produce some excellent content if they want to stand a chance at winning.

I think the best one from each playerworld should be chosen, and then show the list to all playerworld managers, and let the managers vote on who they think deserve it. Make a rule saying that the playerworld manager can not vote for his own staff. By letting managers vote it won't be popularity contest. If players vote they will just vote for their friends or who they like.

Also make a rule that a player can not be nominated on multiple playerworlds. I don't think that would be fair either.

I hate bad apostraphe use. You only use them for shortening and possesion... Sometimes clarifying too like A's would look like As.

impossible, how can you vote on best staff of the month? everybody will vote diffrent, i mean ive maded a city for bravo and ive detailed about 15 levels there on 4 days.


thats together about 30 levels in 4 days.... i dont think i will get anything for that, becuse only bravo staff now about it X_X

Server Managers will choose the best staff and I think Angel got a list already or is close to having a complete list.

I asked this, but Angel left I think before she saw/commented on it. Anyhow, I think that it should only be for open PWs. That way people can actually see the work done by that person, also it could incorage some of these UC PWs to open (It wont make them open much sooner but it may a bit)

Yeah is this just to get attention? I mean the maximum any site needs is like 2mb :D
Some of the biggest and the best sites aren't even close to 2mb.

Angel doesn't care what people think of her, so why would she want to do it to win people over? Also most of the people on here will need well over 2mb, because they will want to put multiple images and big files etc. But yes they wont need 150MB I doubt, although its nice to know you have that much if you need it.

It is only for servers on the list, not in private

I am just curious, lets say the player or staff member worked on multiple servers, such as me working at frolic and me working on cynical, and me getting picked from two servers via the managers for the staff of the mouth? Would that give me a better chance? I aint saying I did get picked, but what If that were to happen, because lots of people have multiple jobs in which they work hard in. :)

A list of more extended rules for this are being made up , but to answer your question no, A canidate will be chosen from only 1 PW regardless of how many he/she works on. If a canidate is chosen by more than one then the PW that first submitted the name will be taken and the other PW will have to chose another. This is the only way it can be done fairly to all.

errrr depends on what you have on the site, the Npulse site with multible Forums and alot of gfx , we are running right at 120mbs now, I have 600mbs to use on my site. 2mbs would barely give you any pages at all with gfx and no Forum at all. Angel is in the business of web hosting in RL , this is taken from a low end stastics of a starter site , it is by no means done to create any attention. This shows only you are not in the business nor really know what is average or not.
