ok every time i close graal now after playing i get these stupid pop ups and it's pretty annoying.......
does any one know why or is this happening to anyone else?

I do on certain servers, maybe it has to do with their startmessage? I dont know

I'm betting you have spyware somewhere on your computer. Do you use Kazaa?

no. i have no spyware on my computer and i don't use kazaa :(

U are LAT Admin on cynical , well i can tell you this, i get alot of pop ups there, and its becuse the site that automaticly open a graal pop up.

How can you be sure? Get ad-aware.

i have been getting this popup lately that has been saying "Your system is open to the internet, download this program to stop pop-ups now...and it says more but i dont remember, i'll take a pic and post it on here..." and it shows it like every hour.....i dunno why, maybe i do have spyware i need to download something

stupid ad trying to sell me fake university diplomas that look almost perfectly identicle to scam getting jobs, pfft.

Err.. I neber get pop ups except when i sign on or touch a sign that links to a site.

What really bothers me is that ad's popup on these here fourms sometimes, and it is really annoying. We PAY for these fourms, shouldnt we get it ad-free?

Some spyware is triggered to create a popup when you go to a frequently visited site. So say for example, you come to the graal forums a lot, it will trigger the popup when you come to the forums.

Sheer ignorance in not knowing about spyware is not Graal's problem. It doesn't popup because Graal has popups, it pops up because you have spyware.

Will virus software able to detect Spyware? I dont think i have spyware in my comp, but i always get ad's when i come to these fourms. I also use Norton Antivirus 2002

Most likely, no. Because spyware isn't a virus, it's installed when you install another program, usually a file sharing program or music sharing program. It's in the agreement or in fine print on their website that says it will install the advertisement program (spyware).

Like others have said, just get ad-aware and it will clean the spyware from your PC.

I went to Cynical, or alteast I think I did, and their servermessage opened to a searchengine and a bunch of pop-ups came up. I know what spyware is, and I hate kazaa and such things, I buy my music. =/

I have the same problem in the rare times I play Graal. Also, considering I have formatted, and have ad-aware pro. When I play graal I get like 5 pop-ups, I know it is not spyware doing it; nothing else is installed. Now, unless my Radeon drivers have installed some unknown spyware, or Microsft has, there's something up with Graal.

Well than it's obvious that it's the fault of the playerworld website. It probably has ad banners. I think that is pretty stupid myself... I mean, just let the player click the "GO" button next to the link for that server in the serverlist.

Graal itself doesn't have ad banners. Because for one, everyone would have it happen to them, and two, Stefan/Unix already pretty much set their foot down about ads because they don't think ad banners and stuff like that are worth the effort because they don't bring in much money.
