"... Disconnect the NPC Server"

A prompt should show up when you try to disconnect the NPC server, asking "are you sure you want to Disconnect the NPC-Server? [Yes] [Cancel]" cancel being highlighted, incase you have it highlighted on the RC playerlist and accidently hit "delete" or something... @_@

Or just make it so you cant d/c it at all without typing it in as a command.. You wont accidently type something liek this:

Yes, 0.o It's happened before, someone clicks on the NPCserver so it's highlighted and doesn't notice, then they hit delete, and bammo... No more NPCServer...

The Manager/CoManager accounts should have special added rights for RC. Like for example so it cannot be edited by any other accounts, some importiant server rights can be protected with passwords, it can make a password to edit server options, incase someone gets ahold of someones RC that has access to the server options. ;)

Best idea ever!

Also how about a password restricted mass file deleting.

Or here's a good idea, only give folder and disconnect rights to people who are NOT COMPLETELY stupid?

Or just make something that shows the NPCServer is online, but where you can't actually do anything to it.

R0b1n-NPC 10-02-2002 05:58 AM

what like on aim, you cant warn the stupid austin powers bot? bwahahah i will find a way one day....

zell12 10-02-2002 07:01 AM

There should be a safe file for the importiant folders which cannot be deleted by normal accounts (All accounts except Managers) and the normal folders which can be edited. The safe folders are like a copy of everything and aren't deleted. The normal one is like the ones today which can haves its files deleted, edited, and viewed.
The safe file can only have its contents copied and viewed by a normal account. It cannot be changed from the Safe file or deleted. This function would also be pwd protected on the Managers account for deleting the files in the safe folder.

Then I suppose who ever made the mistake of hiring that person shouldn't have that kind of power...nor the person that did it :p

If anything, only Stefan should be able to wield such an ability...that is too dangerous to allow players to do.

Graal2001_NAT 10-02-2002 10:47 AM

I think sendtorc/nc was a mistake, or just allowing reset for the npc server was

zell12 10-03-2002 06:18 AM

Well. The npcserver shouldn't run endless loops then.

what the hell are you talking about, it doesnt, if a loop exceeds 10000, it stops it and sends a warning message to rc

Psycho_Goldfish42 10-04-2002 01:06 AM

And another problem

Yet what if there is nobody online to actually recieve the warning?

Graal2001_NAT 10-04-2002 01:30 AM

depends on if the script is going to exceed the limit again, if it constantly does, you log on and get bombarded by the warnings, usually if a script is going to do that you notice it right away

I agree. The people who need the rights should be people who are AWARE of what they are doing.
