Need graphics help for Graalian Baseball
 

I'm getting pretty close to finishing my baseball game, I just need to put game part together. It's like the old offline soccer game where you just need to get other players and set up teams and start playing.

If anyone would like to help me by making some graphics I would greatly appreciate it since mine aren't very great... Right now I think I just need to have my baseball http://members.aol.com:/michaelangelo36/baseball.png redone, a bat made, and maybe a glove. If anyone feels daring they can make some tiles but thats not really needed.

I'm going to put this, along with some other games I've made, into an indoor/outdoor gaming facility and have it put up on classic.

As of right now, I have (scripted) a baseball, an ump that tells you when you hit a homerun, when a ball is caught and someone is out, and when you hit the ball wrong, and the framework of the diamond finished. I might make it take more than one level so there is an outfeild (looks real goofy without one) but I haven't figured how I'm going to make that work...

You can hit, pickup(catch), throw, and tag people out with the baseball. All I really need is some graphics that look better than mine so it isn't all cruddy looking.

He's right... And those bats are NOT 3D... they are little brown shapes with a bevel effect puked on top.

Actually on bats, it would look best as a sword graphic. Since that's the way it's set up for testing and I don't feel like changing a lot there just so you can hit the ball from the side.

Gloves would be good as a shield, but with a sprite like if you were to hold it like a catcher, so it's not silly looking when you try to catch.

I like my baseball, but it could be improved, and I may have rotating sprites for the hell of it.

Tiles are still up in the air. I don't care either way, but it would sure look better.

All in all, I could do all of this myself if I need to. But if anyone would like to help and get their name in here, be my guest.

You could make a map, but I don't think the ball would go through the levels.

An NPCserver one would probably be more efficient...

I'm going to try the map thing and see if I can't atleast make it look like it's in another level. If not there will still be stadium seating and a looking thing with setfocus.

Problem with the npcserver is that I don't know enough of it to script anything more complicated than a door...

Screenshots(2)...this one shows the throwing part, it has a default so you don't have to adjust every time...

this one shows me hitting the ball, I have an auto pitch for testing. I may set something up so you can practice when noone else wants to play.

You have a nice idea though, I planned on making something similar, but I can't script that well.

All I really can tell you is that with an NPCserver it would be able to go through levels (I'm not sure about non-npcserver.) Canwarp or something. Like they did with the soccer ball. It bounces and stuff off of walls I think.

Bah, forget the multi-level thing, nothing works right that way. Yeah, the level is cruddy but I haven't given much time to that yet. I can make the ball purely showimg, but then it won't respond to players in other levels... bah, I need a workaround

Use a gmap for multiple levels that act as one big level. Use shoot command for throwing the ball. Tada. :P
