light jello - eye candy -

1 Attachment(s)
The basic math in this script is by Sern
i just tweaked with it and make it shimmer...
Too laggy or bright to be practically used online
but in fulll screen mode
its like light on jello... gaze into the refleciton of
your soul as it shimmers in imagination, striggles for order, and collapses into an etheral glob agian...

Nice looking, however the overall "pretty" of the npc is based on the placement of the numerous NPCs in certain patterns. You might find this one apetizing aswell (However, it does generate more lag).

Neat =)

Uh

Cool guys.. Try using diffrent colors though x.x

osrs 08-18-2002 01:25 PM

Nice

prozac424242 08-19-2002 04:34 AM

colors!

1 Attachment(s)
Here it is using colors - they alternate when
the max or minimum radius is reached. cool color aura on a bundle, also nice by itself. play around with the sin and cos funcitons... post cool results here

prozac424242 08-19-2002 04:37 AM

psycadelic

ooh the random function in the timeout...
i bet there is a substance you can smoke that
when you look at this it oculd waro to a 3-d thing...
but dont smoke kiddies! bad for ya!

ever-changinc colors with a Tan funciton for
the horisontal x axis line to give it a spiral galaxy effect...
heh get it it spirals flat like the keyboard is flat on your desk and it spirals up and down, clockwise and counterclockwise on your screen.. heheh ..

IAMNOTAFREAK 08-19-2002 06:57 AM

:eek:
ooooo, pretty...

light effects are so much fun :D

watch the pendulum...

1 Attachment(s)
after some research i find that Tan() is not a graal function so i dont know what the line-thing worked. just sin/cos pattern on x and no change in y i think. yep thats it.

Here's another dandy, arctan() can be fun!
After a couple seconds watch the pendulums drop
and swing, back and forth...
watch them become two, three, eight, back to three, two, one..

and as you watch this for a few minutes say ..

i will send prozac money....
i will send prozac money....
i will send prozac money....
i will send prozac money....

i mean take a look. its psycadelic and got they
pattern for a hynosis state kinda maybe sotra?

TLG_WL_mechman 08-19-2002 10:41 AM

Woah... o.0 I got hipnotized for maybe 15 minutes on the two first versions of the level 0.o

I'm a bad scripter, in fAct my knowledge in scripting does not go further than those showimg andd things newasy..

Whats this.angle for? I know its for angle, but since graal can't rotate images (it maybe can, no scripter ever tryed that on graal)
I don'T understand what angle could be for? its for rotating around a point???? liek a clokc?

prozac424242 08-19-2002 10:57 AM

goodie

bingo, this.angle helps rotate the point around the circle.

you got hypnotised?

now U R B IN MY POWERRRR

you will send prozac money
you will vote prozac is cool (On left see only one little vote!)
you will send prozac more money (form pm)

muuuuahahahaHAHA!!!

eeevil prozac!

thats right boys and girls 20 years experince..
enought for a doctorace..
a doctorare in .. eeevil?
nah i got more hair on my head than dr. evil.

SOMEBODY play with the script and make a fun cool pattern!
then post it here please, ok?

TLG_WL_mechman 08-19-2002 11:01 AM

OMg, gimme a hint on how i could do a fun pattern with what i got right now on these levels and I'll do one

this.angle is a radian (i believe) in the script, radians are used for a few things in scripts but mostly for things that require an angle, such as shoot
NPC Code:

if(weaponfired){
for(i=0;i<6.28;i+=.05){
shoot playerx,playery,0,i,0,0,hatnpc,1;
}
}

is an example of how a radians could be used

TLG_WL_mechman 08-19-2002 11:17 AM

and hwats a radiant?
I dont se why shoot could need an angle... I would make it work with the playerdir and tada...

emortylone 08-19-2002 12:29 PM

Radients are circles. In my opinion i think thy are a more realistic movement then just 4 directions.
Well, anyways THAT shoot command doesn't use true radients... i dunno how stefan has it set up but there not real radients. I think he should make those radients match true radients.

archaonTCN 08-19-2002 03:39 PM

I find radians impractical; using pi is annoying because there is no set value for it.

prozac424242 08-19-2002 07:02 PM

pi !

what do you get when you
divide the circumfrence of an apple
by its radius?

apple pi!

hahaha I R B FUNNY!!

omg i am such an experienced NOOB!

Spectre1337 08-19-2002 11:39 PM

Why doesnt Stefan just make an easy command like..

lightcircle=true;

Then it circles without the trouble.. Us bad scriptars
would have lots of fun with that:(

if you can't figure out something like sin/cos just don't script...much easier on your mind and the sanity on those you beg to 'help' you

Yes there is - we just don't/can't know it. In any case, there would be no measurable difference between cos(3.1415926535897932384626433832795) and cos(full_value_of_pi). And even if there were, it's irrelevant; there's an infinite amount of irrational numbers that could be used with degrees too. Besides, radians are a far more logical system of measurement, mathematically speaking. And we all hopefully know how much maths there is in scripting.

Reason upon reason why radians aren't at all inferior to degrees.

SO cos means pi??? omg and cosinus too?
I've been banging my head on the desk cuz I couldnt find what cos meant... All that english math is just too much confusing.

Spectre1337 08-20-2002 09:54 AM

Jeez Jagen, I want to learn to script. Just because
I dont know a command or two doesnt mean I
should quit trying.. You could help me :(

no, cos and sin are more of functions to use when dealing with angles, go to www.math.com to learn how to use it outside of graal script if you are interested

TLG_WL_mechman 08-20-2002 10:05 AM

Hell yes I wanna learn,... if its gonna help me scripting?

"As far as the simple stuff you'll do in Graal is concerned" is that an insult? lol

"As far as the simple stuff you'll do in Graal is concerned, sin and cos are for taking angles and turning them into x/y vectors." You mean you could make some super duper thing with sin and cos besides turning angles to x/y (or even z) vectors?

And btw... your sig is showing as a red X.

TLG_WL_mechman 08-23-2002 12:15 AM

I know its off topic but I could host your sig;
I got access to mystical marlee's old site's ftp,

IAMNOTAFREAK 08-23-2002 07:32 AM

up (pi/2)
left (pi) right (2pi)
down (3pi/2)

radians are fun :D
let me confuse you more, 60 minutes = 1 degree and 3600 seconds does also...
so, 245.5 degrees can be written as 245 degrees and 30 minutes
aren't trigonometry and calculus joyous? :D

screen_name 08-24-2002 01:21 AM

I wish I could see light effects.

Thript 08-24-2002 01:37 AM
