A Tutorial For NPC Server??
 

Does Anybody know where i can get a Tutorial For a NPC Server
Or can anybody post one?

an updated version doesnt exist, the current NPC Server document predates the add/removeguildmember commands so it is very old

:rolleyes: too bad anyone who knows ANY npc server script, let alone the basic knowledge of getting your nice levels to be compatible with an npc server, is too busy to share or some other bs... *grumble, grumble*

only real way to learn is to get access to an npc server and test your scripts

lol, ironic to get that much power, you'd probably have to know how to script for an npc server. I heard a rumor that the playerworlds won't be able to use npcservers, wich adds to my theory that there is a conspericy against me to keep me from ever learning as much as to make my fine npcs compatible with an server with an npc server!!! @_@

Best thing to do is get great at scripting without an NPC Server then get a job somewhere that has NPC Server.
True you may not be able to make NPCs work there when you start but you will eventually learn.
I'm sure they'll have someone who can convert the NPCs to work with NPC Server.

or Jagen could tell us some simple commands *wink* *wink*

stefan just said they needed good enough scripters, most if not all the servers that recently got them don't have any

I could easily post the document with them but it won't help unless you have an NPC Server to test NPCs on.

i remember before i started scripting serverside, i had the document, studied it everyday for months

when i finally got access to the npc server, it didn't help that much


its takes more than just knowledge of commands

plz do...i know thats only a small part of it...but it would still help...

I learn my scriptings from other scripters lol. I learn p2p scripting from Graal2001 levels and any other server lvs that have an npc server lol

Dude, I doubt there are many commands that we don't know about... if there are they probably don't have that big of a use, and you need to learn for yourself in majority of cases.

I really enjoyed reading this files. Thanks for posting them. Can't wait until Classic gets an npc-server.
But you didn't post the scriptcommands.txt Stefan posted a few months ago. It might be usefull, too.

I learned some things from that tutorial about 3 or 4 months ago, he he. I don't know if Classic WILL be getting an NPC Server, you would've thought they'd be the first to get ones, but they didn't. Perhaps it was meant to be just that CLASSIC and not be Non-Classic? Perhaps they aren't getting one ever.

GUHR, how creative. Never heard THAT one before.

The definition of Classic (which is being renamed to Graal: The Adventure) is that it is a world constantly evolving. Constantly growing.

Besides which, NPCServer would do little else than repair a buttload of bugs and make it somewhat easier to maintain and harder to write a trainer for. Not like they said "Replace the overworld with G2K1's!"
