Graal = Bad for your computers?

Ok I read Constinople's profile on Graal and in it, it says "my dad blames all computer problems on Graal". I was thinking and I was like damn my parents do the same thing..

For instance: My mom uses Outlook for email and the spell check wasn't working so she told me to come here and she goes "spell check isn't working.. its probably b/c of that game you play all the time" Im like what?!" and so on.

My question is do your parents blame the computer problems on Graal?

Jaguar__5 07-01-2002 02:18 AM

:megaeek: OMG MY PARENTS SAY THAT TOO!
Every time my computer BSOD's they blame it on graal :P!

Python523 07-01-2002 02:19 AM

everytime my computer has a problem it's always because
'I play too many computer games'

Faheria_LAT3 07-01-2002 02:19 AM

mmmmkay: Nope. Because it isn't, and my mom has no computer knowlege.

konidias 07-01-2002 02:20 AM

My mom uses computers all the time.. but not mine. :p Using my computer would be like using my toothbrush. It's a no no.

Exactly. Sometimes, I start to believe it. I wouldnt doubt it, because my computer is whack, but personally, I think it was the computer repair man we sent our tower to, after it got hit by lightening. I didn't like that guy, big, fat, shaddy mofo. He gave us the CHEAPEST sound card possible....i hate him.

my dad has a go at me all the time, he keeps saying all those games i play **** my computer up, seeing as he has no knowledge of how a computer works and i have no stopped playing games he now blames it on chat programms like aim and msn, it's hillarious

mikepg 07-01-2002 02:51 AM

actually...

aim has been known to mess up computers with certain GFX cards.

I envy you. :(

I worked at Burger King for months until I had enough money to buy parts to build my computer and im not allowed to keep it to myself.

It sux.

VampiricTutorNewHD 07-01-2002 03:32 AM

My dad blames everything on what I do. He blames problems on IRC, AIM, and Graal. Then when we discovered one of the wires in our computer was mis-wired and causing the computer to become overheated, he persisted. For the record, ICQ does screw your computer up. IRC can, but it's usually a hacker that does it, not the actual program.

How much did you pay for this money when you bought it? ;)

I was once told I that games do in fact mest up your computer. Here is one simple example....Your playing a game and because the programmers didn't program it right, there is a bug that freezers your computer and you have to restart it the wrong way. B00M, lost of files and your comp. gets all screwy because of lost files.

Unfortunately, yes. That is why I do not play Graal anymore.

1.) Jedi Outcast
2.) I'm so ****ing tired of the *****ing that it's not funny.

The computer froze. "Probably that Graal game you play."

LilNiglet 07-01-2002 03:55 AM

Whenever my computer crashes-

Wait, it never crashes.

When my DAD'S computer crashes, he blames it on me.

Although I've never touched the thing in years.

Domini 07-01-2002 03:57 AM

haha, games won't seriously **** up your computer.

konidias 07-01-2002 03:57 AM

I have not once, in all my years of computer use, had a program that messed up my computer badly, and I've been using computers since I was like 10 years old. (nearly 9 years)

My computer is in my room, I have a nice corner desk (one of the good corner computer desk kinds) No one ever uses it but me, except when my niece comes in and messes around with my mouse. :p

My mom hates computers, and my sister got skipped in the gene pool when it came to technology, so my computer is all mine. :D I feel sorry for the people out there that don't have computers in their rooms, don't have a lock on their bedroom door, or have to share a room with a sibling. I doubt I could get anything done on my computer if it wasn't in my room.

Judge_Spunky 07-01-2002 04:01 AM

My brother and I complain that our computer is to friggin slow, due to a whole 400 mhz processor speed, and all my dad says is, "Delete some things from the hard drive, then it will go faster"
That has some merit to it, but even when we reformatted it went slow.. X_x

Torankusu 07-01-2002 04:03 AM

I erased AOL off of my computer and it(the computer) hasn't screwed up with graal yet. My parents' computer on the other hand, has AOL on it, and the graal runs horribly. The AOL is not the internet connection, it's just on the computer.

The only thing they usually do is just eat RAM up. :)
It's nothing a quick restart won't fix.

My parents blame games on the internet connection. I don't know if they're horribly non-techno people or what, but if it won't connect, the problem was Graal.

Admins 07-01-2002 04:19 AM

Graal uses gfx cards and sound card a lot so if the drivers are bad they can freeze the computer or crash windows, but normally they don't do bad stuff other than that you need to reboot.

Programs like Real Player, instant messangers, file sharing programs etc. actually change the configuration of the machine and can really mess up things (I remember Go!zilla adding dns routing entries to the config).

Cid_Night 07-01-2002 04:22 AM

my parents blame everything on graal..."the garden hose has a hole, must be graal!" or "what! the tv is getting bad reception, must be taht damn graal again!"

I tried using Go!Zilla, and it was good for a big download, but I can't even get it to download smaller files. It just makes weirder connections other than the usual port 80 for the internet and screws my computer up. :grrr:

Real Player always freeze for me... Most file-sharing programs have spyware in it, anyway.

Cookies on some sites even have some spyware in it... I downloaded Ad-aware the other day, and I use it about every day. I just used it 15 minutes ago and 4 cookies had some type of weird programming it it; All 4 being advertisments.

WoRlaNN2k 07-01-2002 05:03 AM

Heh, I get to use my own computer, so my parents nor my brother complain about Graal screwing up the computer... As for me, no problems yet, but I do sometimes have major lag problems in the market place.

VampiricTutorNewHD 07-01-2002 05:25 AM

I took off AOL just a second ago. I'm waiting to see if there any changes.

Hyped 07-01-2002 05:51 AM

Same here :) I've been using computers for a long time now and I never have real problems. Also my dad knows like everything about computers so if anything goes wrong he just fixes it right up :) I have a nice computer in my room (DSL though, we need a router so I can get the cable info from downstairs so I'm faster since Cable is faster than DSL in downloading but DSL is faster in uploading). My mom only uses the computer (downstairs, not mine, only I use mine since it's in my room) and she only uses it for AOL and talking with her friends from all over (since I move a lot :-/). I don't like anyone touching my computer :D

Poogle 07-01-2002 06:03 AM

Doesnt happen to me they never use my computer (lucky me ugh... i dont have anything to hide do i?).

My mom blames World War II on graal.

Wolf: my mother says the same thing, but I agree with her. We have to usally reformat our computer every month after I download graal. I have a current problem after deleting CometCursor... though it seems relaated to graal =O!

explorer, my computer, folders, etc do that when I try to open it. i have to press yes then it opens. you may think I'm lazy but its VERY ANNOYING. and btw, I look in my d drive (my spare hd) and there was never a folder called project 3.60 or w/e. anyone tell me how to fix that?

LOL, your mom is like my mom =D, she uses the comp for only maps.com x.x

archaonTCN 07-01-2002 07:31 PM

My dad used to blame Graal because our computer was running slow, however I've never had problems with Graal.

As a matter of fact, Counter-Strike and Diablo 2 crashes more often than Graal. :)

VampiricTutorNewHD 07-01-2002 07:51 PM

First of all, Nyght, you have to get rid of ICQ. ICQ is a problem maker to the fullest extent. Also, what Comet is escapes me, it looks almost like it's trying to compile a file.
