What the Oasis?!
 

Just to let you guys know, Oasis isn't dead. :D

I have been working daily on it, I just haven't been updating you guys with the new info much. Right now I'm working on the status, which will be interactive, and will take advantage of the new keydown2 and new mouse features coming in the new exe. ;)

So far I think the status looks very nice and fits the oasis graphics well. I made it all myself, so it should match the graphic style. I made it as easy to read as possible, yet not annoying or distracting.

I have done a lot more player sprite frames, and more tiles of course, along with female bodies (just started) some of you might have seen the female body for Oasis but if you haven't then too bad, because I'm not showing it. :p

There is still a TON of graphics to make, but now I have kaimetsu helping with npcs (whenever he gets done with his exams and things he should have more time to help I hope)

I expect to have all of the graphics needed, done within 3 weeks. (probably sooner) Level making will get underway, and me and kaimetsu will be scripting all the systems. The movement system alone is a ton of work, and is very detailed. It will be like nothing you have ever seen on Graal.

That's all I have for now.. I'm not showing any snapshots, even though I have some to show, because every time I do, I get tons of people telling me what tiles I need to fix, and that I shouldn't be showing all my stuff, etc. So I will save the trouble and not show anything at all.

Yes, we were all basing our every day lives on the fact "is oasis still alive", some of us don't care, for there are alot of Graal Server's coming out graphics wise that are better, such as Murasamune. In my opinion, this was a spam, because you were just calling attention to your server once again without any proof of your progress, but that's just me.

It wasnt spam he informed us on a lot of things like:

He done some female bodies.
The new system he going to have.
The fact that he should be finished the tileset soon so he will be needed level makers.

Konidas didn't show any progress because people are always saying crap like how he shouldn't show too much stuff and be very picky with every little level he shows like o that tree is messed up u sux or some crap like that he said it in his post and konidas is a truthful person he just wouldn't lie like that

I loved the screen shot of Murasamune with the guy looking over the cliff and the island or if that what it was, I can vaguely remember. If the whole Murasamune looks like that then Koni, your gonna have a hell of a time.

It's called an update on progress. Every server owner makes these. What the hell is your problem with me anyway? Why are you posting here if you "don't care" your opinion is your own, and I could care less if you like Murasamune graphics over mine. I didn't know this was a contest of who had the best graphics anyway. If I would have posted a new snapshot you would have just posted a reply as to what was wrong with it, and how Murasamune is so much better then Oasis. Then Soul Blade would have commented that I'm revealing too much of my progress.

Even when I show new snaps to birdbird he has to comment on what he thinks needs to be fixed. It isn't my concern at the moment, my concern is getting Oasis completed enough to go online for people to play. Graphics can be changed after. If you don't care about my playerworld, then why even come to this topic and post?

Actually he's doin good. I talk to kon sometimes, we share gfx back and forth =P. He is one of the few tile artist who doesnt steal crap from RPG Maker and enlarge it.

no offense koni but i refuse to like oasis till i see gameplay... i cant be impressed by graphics alone. I am sure you can understand this. The same goes to graal2230 and murasamune.

Koni has all the right to make a thread about his server, and since it is gonna rock you should just keep you mouth shut until its out and then we can start deciding and people can start criticising. Keep up the good work Koni I'm think Oasis will rock!!

Have you even hinted at a story line? Because thats basically what server's need to have. Have you told us what your server's about, what the main character will be doing throughout his travels, what the role in the other races will be? Will you be able to interact with any of the other npc's or get hints on many things to come in the future of the server? No, you haven't.

But since my opinion doesn't matter, you just don't develop that storyline and put up a server that is poorly supervised

And blacklisting my account cause i insulted a server i will never play? ***** go ahead, and if i actually do play it to see how crappily run it is, and you ban me on spot, HR will be getting a little notice of it to begin with.


Also, your graphics are too cartoony. And i have never said my graphics are better than yours, because I believe my graphics are equal level.


And i'm still holding a grudge against you from the hat auction you jipped me out of. You stole my money in the auction house and then put down the hat, took it back up, and said "someone else took it" when no one else was on the stage but me and you.

That will be the Oasis player list after a month of it being up, it has happened to all p2p except for Graal 2001

Your lamebrain onesided opinion is not going to make one flip of difference to my playerworld. Maybe if you read back in older topics you will see I have talked a lot about Oasis, it seems you have only read from the hill topic. I have a storyline, I have all of what you said planned.. I'm not posting it because I don't want to describe everything in exact detail for everyone so, (as soul blade said) it would ruin the fun of finding out for yourself when you play.

Now you're telling my my server will be crappily run? How do you know of my ability to run a server that isn't even public yet? You're making a lot of predictions which will only make you look like a bigger fool if Oasis does well. I can ban you on the spot if I want to, it's my playerworld, and HRO does not exist. I would ban you because I don't want stupid people like you ruining the fun for people that actually like my pw and want to play.

Oh and about your "prediction".. It's completely moot because all the other p2p pw's that are online, do not have a completely new scripted movement system, new player bodies, new message system, new inventory system, new tileset, new EVERYTHING. Providence and Andor use the default stuff, and Andor is a big copy of 2k1, while Providence is a failed rping pw that was ruined because SK left and took all his stuff with him. I don't see the similarities with my pw except that it's P2P. :rolleyes:

All of this because you have a grudge against me for something that wasn't even my fault.

The way to go about making the best playerworld is to never be satisfied with it.

Think about that.

Those things you listed have nothing to do with a playerworld being fun. Lets see some quests, some info on what players will be able "do" Besides moving different and having the "ability to read books". Don't take this in a negative way, please.

Oasis looks good, but personally I am looking forward to Murasamune as it sort of reminds me of Diablo and I like Diablo. ;x
Hopefully there'll be magic,attacks, and spells and stuff on either Oasis or Murasamune ;D

Yes, me and kaimetsu had a discussion yesterday about how we plan on doing many of the systems and things, and he mentioned a magic system like that.

Honestly, who doesn't think Kaimetsu can make good npcs? He's helping with Oasis, so that means that Oasis will have good npcs.. you have seen some of the graphics, and those that say they are good now know that there are good graphics, and good npcs for Oasis.

I don't find that at all negative.. I was just hoping to keep that information secret until Oasis comes out. I did not make this topic to gloat or hype up my server, I made it to let people know that Oasis was still being made. If I go into detail about everything the player can do, it won't be as fun experiencing it when Oasis comes out. (by the way, who posted that, there was no name)

Also, if any of you have grudges against me for some reason, please pm me and tell me why, I don't like having enemies, especially over something so mediocre as "you took my hat" Heck I will give him a couple of hats if that will make him stop being angry at me. I honestly did not take his hat, I don't even care that much about 2k1 now, so if he wants a hat or two, I will give them to him. I find it so stupid to hate someone for life over some little mistake. I really want you to pm me if you have something against me so that we can work it out, I especially don't like it escalating to the point where you're going behind my back and talking negatively about me because of some misunderstanding.

Now, why, when someone posts something about their playerworld does it always end up in a big fight about the playerworld going to suck or someone's personal dislikes. All Koni wanted to tell people was that Oasis isn't dead and that he is making some kewl new stuff. Just because he doesn't mention anything about quests and such people automatically assume there are none!! I believe Oasis will be a very successful server and am looking forward to it.
