Death of Krynn..Thanx GodSpeed.
 

Well to any of you who wanted Krynn to come up Im sorry its stopping. No more Krynn. ToT went down and Cohn gave me his island he made for ToT it took me very long to add it to Krynn I put it right in the middle. Now all these days/weeks/months later ToT comes back and I can't use the island says the owner who is using the overworld. So I can't just replace the island with new levels. I would like to thank GodSpeed for making this possible. It put my heart and soul into that server and now it is just a memory.

No, GodSpeed can't do that, know why? Because Cohn made those levels, therefore Cohn controls those levels, therefore GodSpeed can no longer use those levels. Be the strong one...GodSpeed is nothing but a brown noser, he has no power himself...only the power of others.

Sorry, Godspeed cannot tell you you cannot use those levels because when he gave up ToT he gave up all the rights he had to Cohn's levels and since Cohn gave them to you, they are now yours and he has no say over it.

But...Could Cohn take the island back? He said "I don't want to go against GS" or something in that sort.

Yes! Screw that other server, Krynn looks so promising with the new items thing (dont know specific name) and everything that I've seen!

Cohn agreed to having his levels on Dynakiah, and even said its a good idea, and offerd to help.

So how could he not want us to use his levels when hes happy with this project, and you think he would have said something like this? He mentioned nothing to me about this.

He gives them to you to use on your server, keyword here is yours. Which is what they are now, when a server goes up there are not little sections of what's who's levels and such, it's a whole thing owned by the owner.

But im asking could he take them back after giving them too me?

did you say "these levels are yours now" or something to that effect? if he gave away those levels and you are the sole owner, he cannot take them back unless you give them back.

He is right. Remember, the reviews go through psyker, crono and james, so godspeed cannot fail it for having the levels online because they don't really belong to his playerworld once the maker has given them to another.

So is this a race to get the server up first?

i wouldn't worry. godspeed should be so busy doing this playerworld stuff that he *loves doing, and thinks he does so well* as well as graal2001, tot is going to take forever to get up.

the argument is whether or not there is one of two situations

1. Cohn allowed you to use the levels, but didn't give you the levels

2. Cohn gave you the levels, which you are free to use however you like

But I don't want to make Cohn mad... =(

Well naturally I would think so, but techinally they should be yours. But if one PW goes up with the levels and another comes along with the same, the other PW doesn't look good.. you know?

It doesnt matter, Godspeed is a good person guys, you think he would acually fail a playerworld because he doesnt like the owner, or for some foolish reason. If anyone did something like that, they deserve a automatic ban. I just hope that Dynakiah will be tested Fairly aswell. :D

My fear is GS will use his magic high powers to get that server up without it being finished :(

Well what that other just said didn't really solve anything and as for Godspeed well hopefully he wouldn't go that low, I think you guys just need to talk and figure it out. I think that Krynn should get them, but I dont know. Even if you don't Spanky, you gotta keep going, people can make levels.. if it came down to it where you desperately need help I'd even help. With Faheria that's tough.. but nm.. oh well I have finals and sleep sounds good right now.. hopefully you guys have this figured out and both servers continue as both look very promising.

i think you should have control over the levels, seeing how they became your property as soon as they were sent to you.

Talk to Cohn. See what he wants to do, and if he wants to use them on ToT, so be it. You have no designated time to finish your playerworld.

Holy crap, Spanky showed me some stuff...simply amazing. I can't give details, but he showed me these 2 bosses which were really cool. Very, very unique...gah I wish he would show them to everyone >_<

There are so many people who wish to get a playerworld up and never get a chance. Then there are people who had the chance, f**ked it up and now want it back!
Thats all b/s.
I think that if you had your chance and you blew it, your fault. Why give someone who failed a second chance when there are people who are trying hardest to get a first chance?

Btw to people who are server owners:
If you can script well, make levels well, do graphics well, thats mostly crap. Owning a server involves more then just technical skill. So think of that before you put your server up. If you know you can not handle a staff and managing a server then get a job as a LAT or something.

Hmm. I can't help but feel that if somebody makes some levels for a server - in this case Cohn making them for TOT - then those levels become property of the server. Otherwise someone would be able to quit and say "Now you've gotta take all my levels off the server!"

So with that in mind, I think maybe GS is right on this one.

But then they took it down. If he wanted the levels so badly he shouldn't have in the first place. And now that Godspeed is working on 12631273081273 more things Graal2002 probably won't be done until 2230...:(

I dunno, the discontinuation of the project makes it more complicated. But would a server be able to come along now with the name ToT or with ToT's graphics, NPCs etc? Doubtful... I think the server still has ownership even if it has been cancelled.

Cohn's level are his property, TOT = Canceled, therefore if anyone wants to revive it, they must first ask Cohn if they can still use his island. In this case, his answer will be no since he gave them for Krynn.

Cohn LIKES the idea of Dynakiah using ToTs Content. And Please note, we are only using the Overworld, and Tileset. Not the "WHOLE" ToT Project.

I dont know why you guys are fussing so much. Im not quiting this project, and I am using that Island. It is part of the Overworld. You can even ask Cohn.

Cohn is helping out Dynakiah... why would he say no? Especially when hes working on the project with us.. duh

Because ToT was cancelled and he gave the levels to Krynn, so **** off and take that island of "DYNANANKIIAH" off!

The levels belong to ToT regardless of its status. When the creator submits them to a server he loses all ownership.

But all this talk is irrelevent. We're not the ones to decide; it's Stefan's rules that count so get some sort of decision from him if it matters so much.

I totally agree with this. Lets say Ralph is a LAT, and he is doing levels as a job for INSERTPWNAMEHERE. Ralph gets bored and is offered a job at INSERTOTHERCOOLPWHERE and chooses to quit. To impress those guys he wants to take those levels, if he was allowed to do that he can screw over a pw easily, so therefor if levels are made for a pw they belong to that pw, but if the pw is shut down and not returning then the levels should not be returned to that guy, they should still belong to the owner because it's his pw.
