My Idea...
I think Kraken and Stefan should make a Graal Trading Card game for Graal. Like the Poke'mon trading game and use the cards that Kraken made of Graal People. I think that would be cool! You could buy cards and trade and duel.
|
thats pretty dumb...i say players make their own gfx for new bomies and battle those!
|
It might not be too bad an idea. Make a RL version (Unixmad and Stefan get the copyright of course, it's their game), make an Online version to promote it...use the same graphics, 'cept they do the real thing in the game, instead of deal 1 damage to opponent, it deals 1 damage to opponent...HEY! That'd be a pretty dang original Magic system! Use cards, and MP for "land"...
Ghost Pirate Thirty MP,Tap-Deal 1 Damage to all opponents Zalactic Labs Tap-spawn 1 Bomy (1/1 blue creature) And when you tap it, you can't use it for like five minutes, so you gotta keep swapping...you have a deck weapon, and you can select off a submenu, the 5 cards in your hand...that'd rule! |
Important rule-we need a team of guys that are good at math to write up the fairness guidelines. Like rarity, power, etc: A card gets points equal to its rarity, from 0 (most common, ie land) to 100 (least common, ie Black Lotus). Attacks cost a lot of points, 1 damage is like 50 points, but a card gets an additional point for each MP point used, so you could have a common card that deals 1 damage for 50 MP+"tap", or an 50% uncommon that deals 1 damage for "tap". Health costs points too, 10 points for 1 health-to spawn a Bomy with 1 health, it takes 10 MP, but it does no damage. To spawn a Bomy that does 1 damage and has 1 health it would cost 60 MP at the most common level, so it would probably be a rarer card...say, 10% rarity for the "monsters". 20 points for attributes-flying, swimming, denimwalk, whatever.
If this is all confusing, just think D&D Character Creation. Making a card game is just like that. If Ghost Pirate wants his card to be a 0% rare 10/10 Flying with tap-deal 10 damage, he can't. He has to adhere to the formula. Sound good? I'm starting to think we can seriously do this! |
he's gone mad with power! Ahhhhahahahahahahaha
|
Rarity=(((Attribute Point Costs)/10)-(2*(Colored-Magic Cost))-(1*(Total Colorless Cost))+(Defense*5)+(Attack*10)) %
I worked it out on all Kraken's cards: NPC Code:Name Rarity Need to work out how to weight each errata...obviously Artifacts get a lot of weight since they have no armor and yet serve a function.... |
Tyhm, hes going to pop!
|
*readjusts* I worked out the formula for errata, now the Kraken Hat and James205 cards are well above the legal limit....
Errata Costs- Sacrifice self 200 Attributes (ie rage) 10 " other 100 +/-1 attack 150 To group: x2 +/-1 defense 100 per item x3 Immune to all 1000 per color: /5 Artifact 300 per type: /2.5 Respawn 300 Limited times: xtimes/10 Destroy 1000 Any x1 Lure 100 Enemy x0.75 Spawn 300 Artifact/Type x0.5 damage (per point) 50 Magik x0.1 Heal (per point) 40 Times per turn xtimes Return NMEs to deck 300 Affects 1 type x0.5 Inc. cost of X by Y 50x(X+Y) For one turn: /2 Deflect X 200 To X targets xX/+200 Reflect X 500 if unblocked x0.75 Draw a card 100 if damages NME x0.75 Burrowing 50 To All Enemies x10 Double Damage 400 affects ally x0.5 Attack=X 400 if opp has X /2 Defense=X 350 Sacrifice X others 150 |

|
i dont play magic. i play pokemon cards ;)
|
i'm with birdbird, tyhm is going to explode any second now.
|
I've created a MONSTER!!! and I play Magic
|
Online Version:
You buy the cards from a NPC Card Vendor. He sells Newbie Packs of 80 cards for 30 gralats or so and Supplement Packs of 8 cards for 5. Newbie Packs have a guaranteed mix of Magiks and common Creatures, Supplement packs are fully random but are your only way to get "rares". Once you purchase the Newbie Pack, you get a Deck NPCW which you can either fire anywhere for a Metris-style game or fire in The Card Arena for a Pokemon-Stadium-Style game, with your cards "coming to life" when cast. Advantage to this, it builds popularity for the cards and lets us work out the kinks-fatal combos, what should be rarer, what should be more common, what works, what doesn't. Also to keep people interested, maybe you can wager on your games? Each player puts the same amount of Gralats in, whoever wins gets to keep them all, log off and you lose half maybe? Or all? Hard to tell if it was malicious... |

I hate that idea, cards are a waste of money. I used to buy Pokemon AND DBZ cards... both went out of style and i figured out that i wasted LOTS of money on cheap crap!
|
I can understand the concept of having cards, but fighting with them...even online, is just dumb

can u explain what is what in that big list of numbers? hehe I think thats a list of different effects and their costs but I'm not sure. perhaps if I recognized the term errata it would help... showing my ignorance lately...

Cmon lets at least be a little original. Make it interesting. Lets give em light and dark types.
Types: light and dark creatures loose -1 when dark and light spells/artifacts are used on them respectively. Some creatures may be immune to this damadge. light spells CANNOT stop light enchantments directly but they CAN negate the effects and same with the dark type. What you would have to do is use a card with a reverse effect. IOW if theres a +2 you have to give it a -2. Some exceptions can be made here with some cards. this forces people to use both types or they could get stuck with a seriously annoying enchantment unless they have one that does the exact opposite. *grins* you never know if someone has a counter spell for the other type or not hehe. add more elements and make em work respectively fire<-->water earth<-->air light<-->dark of course the type of the creature should be relevant to the element predominant in the mana used to create it... which should probably relate to the kingdom its from) ex Dustari Torcher----------------Fire (2) [picture] [/picture] Fire Fire: Do 2 damadge to target creature this turn ------------------------------------2/1 This would be on a red card to signify that its of the element Fire(duh) @ represents taping the card |
er oh forget it... to salvage the original ideas... I think mana will have to be element only and light and dark would have to apply only to creatures/spells/artifacts
|
Tyhm is having fun.
let's keep it that way ;) He'll end up doing it all himself that way. I dunno I liked triple triad from final fantasy 8... or was it tetra master... who know.s I liked it thats what counts. pokemon was alright. |
I HEARD pokemon was too simple... you just built them up and annihlated the guy... no real planning involved
|
It has types; light, dark, wind, plant, fire, and water

How rare am I? |
RL version.. ehh.. But online version, YES, I have been wanting cards on G2K1 for some time and have been trying to think up a unique card game.. But I don't play cards much, only on video games. -_- I was thinking of something relatively simple and that would allow trading / buying.. Not anything really really really complex like card battling and such, like Tyhm's...
|
Jin, I just said 42%...
But I recalculated, your new rarirty is 86%-destroying 1 nonblack enemy, even by self-destructing, is a pretty big power. A Jin card could theoretically take out a Kraken card just by that. Of course, right now the maximum rarity is like 136 for James205, and the total combined rarity of the 85-some cards in the concept stage is 3420%, so it's still pretty common in the grand scheme of things. Which just goes to show we need more newbie cards! |
I'm getting cunfizzled Tyhm :grrr:
|
Tyhm are you gonna make this game?
|
how rare am i?
it would be hard to make a card for me i'm al ways changing my head and colors |
hehe
my complex idea didn't pan out all that well... still I never liked M:TG because a rainbow deck was pretty much a goner. I was trying to find a way to penalize people who use straight blue or black ect decks... guess it didn't work that well... hrm... I wonder if we modified the rules we could fix that... say we make it so only 1 of each land type can be placed each turn? hehe that would fix magic... *grins* actually I just barely have the cards to make a straight one color deck=/ paid to much for my comp upgrades I suppose=D |
I think this would be the best thing for Graal!
|
too confusing...you should take a poll, actually i will!

Since you need more weaker cards, I wouldn't mind being made into a card. It would make more sense for my card not to be uber-destructive anyway, because I'm a saint and don't even really spar...
|
I made a newbie card, 1/1 no skills, it was still like 15% rarity. I figure the way it'll work is everyone has a bunch of Baddy cards, that are the common and cheap ones, then a few rare Super Graalian cards, like Kraken and James205, that cost a lot and are really rare.
The trouble's gonna be marketing. All the other card games have failed because they required someone else have a deck. Magic was a shoe in because everyone had a deck, every expansion was compatible...maybe we should make GraalCards compatible with MTG? Write up special MTG v GCards rules, like the GCards are at 1.5x since MTG generally goes to 3/3 flying as a standard and GCards averages 2/2 or so... |
Hm...the commonfolk should have cards too, and some Classic types. You could have all colors and flavors of Zero 33 for common cards...or maybe have several Zeros of varying rarity... "Whoa! A first edition greenhair Zero 33 with star shield!" Azrael and Bruges would also be musts, and Tyhm would have to be a pretty good card with perhaps some sort of power to alter reality.
