Player Auction
We have server auctions. What about a player auction?
Auction timer will be an hour or depending on the time you purchase or just have a set time to make things easier. You add your item and it will auction, when the auction timer is up whoever purchased it gets added to their account. So you add your item just like in the mall and that's how it'll transfer to the other persons account when their bid is accepted at the end of the auction. Have a queue, auction will be never-ending pretty much, players keep paying the auction fee and add their items to the queue to be auctioned off. Have the auction take place at unstick infront of everyone on an on-going basis. The idea behind this is to give players another option of selling their items, the player auction gives players to sell their items instead of buying items from the server auction. Player auctions gives players the chance to pick up bargains on items and players with items struggling to sell their items a chance at selling their items for more than the pawn price. I'd love to see this implemented. I believe it would be a big hit and very much used. |
So nobody would need to log on again unless to check if it was sold or not :D

You can put your item in the auction and all auctions will start at 0.. Not everybody will risk putting their items up for auction so not everybody will do it. Being online or offline wouldn't matter, once your item is in the auction the auction will handle the rest. |
I thought about doing this in the past, but theres was a chance it would upset players when an item was sold below market value.

Made pretty much this exact thing on UN and it was popular, go for it era.
|
Might as well.
For people that ***** about not getting the money they want, just put a reserve price option like ebay does. |
I say do away with pawn shop too!

Player Auctions? Like slavery? Jeeze Louise, but finally Era has taken a darker turn into society.
|
There used to be player auctions and (Auctioneers) back in the day, I kept trying to get staff to bring it back but it's always shot down.

I like to think I'd fetch a fair price.

We had a player auction house back in 2002 or 2003, before the first reset. I got hired as an auctioneer and made a **** ton of money off of coreguns since i found one on the ground and core never restocked them.
I got the free one, and then used the money to buy another one, and then auctioned it again. I remember selling what i called the "Mega Bundle" or something and never even eluded to what was inside. a guy payed like 2 million for 2 shotguns, 2 handguns, an ak, and 2 uzis XD. I think there was some other odd crap i included too. This was back when people were spawning money anyway, thus the first reset. It was a pretty fun time though. There was also a black market auction downstairs for selling gang weapons and ppa weapons. |

Whats ppa? troll

It's an old business from Era. You pay them and they protect you. Gangs or players used to use their services when Era was fun.

My serious thoughts:
We can try it out. Don't think it would hurt. I just for-see problems with people coming to us (like they do now) about paying too much/typing the wrong amount. We'll have to enable some sort of safety net to stop players from bidding too much (maybe a warning if they're X amount over what the current bid is), as well as have strict rules of operation that anyone using the system would adhere to. Sort of a "Use at your own risk" and not allow any of it to be policeable by the PR's/Admins. Otherwise, not the worst idea I've heard, and like I said we could always try it out for a few days and see how it goes (pass/fail) and go from there. |

Bidding to much isn't a problem, you guys let them do it in the server auction so this wouldn't make a difference. Bidding to much is their own stupidity. However, i do agree that a yes or no option upon bidding should come up to confirm your bid but might be a problem when you want or only have 1 sec left to bid. I believe this would be a big hit amongst players so definitely give it a run. |

I think that should maybe return, it was the only thing I remember having fun with for 12 years of playing Era. Everyone else had fun with that, right? Everyone had fun with PPA breaking your hearts, your minds, and your souls, right? Auctions? No get out what is this Arrested Development and you're bidding on your own mother? But auditions for membership in PPA? Yeah. Let's do it again. |
All of the 12 year olds are 20+ and nobody sticks around to die lol i don't get the taboo
|
Alfonso was here
3/4/15 Also, how much would you guys pay for me in an auction? |
You? Jesus.. like, 9000000000 pesos?
|
I'd pay 2.4mil, but Koho stole it. Albeit so far legit it seems.

Two guys wearing the same head? Summon them both to jail and accuse them both of identity theft, make them drop all of their items so we can look for "clues" about which player is the "real" one, and eventually force one of them to change their appearance before letting them go. |
Hahahahaha, that's awesome. I remember LGM. :O
He logged on like 2 years ago, haven't seen him since. D: |

lol I remember when tupac had "tryouts" for panther international. he had a **** ton of people stock ammo for him as part of the tryout. just brilliant. it's crazy how much influence you could have on people because you landed a spot in the right gang or business.

Still no player auction. This would be a great addition but sadly this management team cant deliver.

You know what really made era great back in the day were these exclusive clubs, the privilege and corruption. I mean, I guess it's a double edged sword because people say this was the sort of thing that kept new players from playing the game. But honestly as a new player in the early 2000s, I remember feeling intrigued by the mystery of all these different exclusive organizations. Also, the privilege that was bestowed on select players really seemed to promote a hierarchical sort of environment which really made for a much more interesting game. Perhaps this is part of the reason gangs have gone downhill? They're no longer exclusive and there's no real hierarchy within them. It's so bad that gag raids aren't even organized or led by anyone in particular. Just sort of egalitarian, apathetic masses throwing themselves mindlessly at one another.
