The Crypt of Kvasir has recieved new updates!

Now, you can enter the Crypt every twelve hours and let everyone of your party have the chance of recieving new and rare loots after defeating Kvasir!
We have added several of new items to his coffin, enjoy the loot!

I really like the enhancement, however I think most of us would like to see MISC items like silver warrior helmet, food, and unneeded capes removed or lessened from the item pool however...

It is not easy to kill Kvasir and if the chances of getting a worthwhile Kvasir-crypt only item are diminished from things like silver warrior helmets and gold armors being a large possibility, I don't forsee many people (especially newer players) taking advantage of this.

also, would like to see Kvasir Essence a dropped item when he is killed, but limit each person only taking 1 like with lord parts (rabbit tooth, glok lord ectoplasm, bomy horn), etc... Limiting it to a chest only thing is kind of counterintuitive..

I thought about improving the loot rate to 5-6 items per player.

Kvasir drops will be removed completely soon. All items will be obtainable through the coffin.

Not sure what the confusion is here? If you reduce the wait between intervals the overall frequency will increase. It's not some super cryptic plot.

Could you explain this more ? I dont know what the point of your post is.

Kvasir crypt is now giving every participating member of the party a chance to loot items, and the crypt is available 3 x per day.

Which is awesome because this is an update myself and several other players were asking for (with minor tweaking...), so I don't understand his confusion either.

Where I am confused however, is the timer for "5 minutes to get 3 partt members back in," does it reset correctly when 3 members are in the room again?

If the group is complete again it is fixing the issue. If thats happen to much it will disqualify you from the crypt (for that run). So if you or your party members die alot, you lose.
Also you got 2 hours MAX to kill Kvasir

I do not know what you really want Pat. Was it bad giving the people an oppurtunity to enter the crypt more times a day and enjoy it? Why do I need a reason to make something on GK more enjoyable?

I don't see the point either. This update is a very good thing and I really enjoy PLAYING GK now, not just idling. There is no reason, to not lower the time between entries to crypt. Since Nico lowered the awesomenessrate of getting high end gear (like amadola in every 10th run), the market won't be flooded either.
And even if it would? I am tired of the times where there were only 1 pair of soccers or bord or whatever. Making items obtainable is the success to every good rp game and GK lacked this for years. Very good updates here nico imo.

Agreed, 100 percent.

Every other MMO I've played doesn't do the whole 'one-of-a-kind' or limited release items. They control their rarity through the actual game mechanics, and it's never just 'everyone wearing the same thing' because they put out a variety of endgame things, as opposed to just one high-tier set of items.

Games are a lot more fun when you can set goals for the stuff you want, then work hard to achieve them. Waiting for someone who has a very rare item to log on so you can try to pry it from their clutches is not 'hard work.' It's a waiting game and leads to people circumventing the difficulty of obtaining such items by just buying them straight-out for actual cash, which is unfair and undesirable. Things like crafting involve actual work, because the time spent is usually equal to the reward.

Maybe, maybe not. I definitely prefer 8 hours over 12. Not because I can do crypt more, but because I'm more flexible with the actual times I decide to do crypt if I want to get 2 runs done a day.

Right, or if I want to do it with a group of friends that plays in an entirely different time zone, I now have the option of doing it with more than that one group?

Maybe if you yourself played, you wouldn't have to ask why...

God above -- have mercy. Would hate to imagine that the development team on GK is making a series of tweaks to improve gameplay. Maybe you should take Torankusu's advice... play more, speculate less. :)

Sorry to say this but:
  1. You are not even part of the community anymore.
  2. We are testing the crypt live with a higher playerbase to tweek around and find the perfect options and rates for the crypt
  3. Why you even bother with the update at all? Is it effecting you in any way or are you just bored and want to annoy us?

The reason for the update is likely because a new 'group chest' system was installed, and probably needs to be thoroughly tested, plus it encourages players to log on more times than one every day if they want to run the crypt multiple times.

Also, because a lot of people have requested it, and Nico decided to actually implement it.

Reason enough for you?

Crypt seems fine right now, drops need to be edited but i love that its 8hours.
First of all replace the silver/gold helmets/chest with stuff like plat or diamonds.
GK has many currencys use them as rewards T_T

Although i do love that GK is getting updates, especially updates regarding ways of getting items. GJ Nico.

i already call it the ice dungeon when i speak to people, but they dont seem to mind calling it xmas dungeon still.

ill remove the xmas messages that npcs say later this day.

Yeah, it really ought to just be a general 'ice cavern' kind of dungeon. Holiday stuff seems to imply that they're only open certain times each year.

I have buffed the monsters in the crypt.
  • Not one-shot-able anymore (Guards and Priests)
  • More Damage
  • More HP
  • More Weapon Class
  • More Armour Class
  • More Experience :)

May I ask why you did remove the one-shot thing?
You bought us brigid blessing which is specific for one-shot vampires

*Guardians seems quite to strong now, you will need max ac to not lose 80% of your health while killing one
*Priests are fine, but they can be overpowerd when there are tomany of them walking around

Xmas Dungeon is to hard now, i recommend to remove priests and guardians from there.

I am usually excited about updates but this one is very disappointing to me :( I am just barely strong enough to take on vampire priests/guardians and was excited I could actually go to crypt and be helpful to my group (something I just recently have been able to do after a lot of work lvling!). With this update, I get slaughtered almost immediately--no more crypt for me, I guess.

Not only that, but x-mas caves are now much, much more difficult because of the stat changes. There aren't a lot of players in this game and most of the regulars are incredibly geared and powerful, so you do all you can to level up in x-mas to try and catch up to them. Now I feel like I've been tripped up & forced to be even farther behind, because there isn't a place I can level reliably on my own besides x-mas. I don't mean to whine and hope this doesn't come off that way, it just feels like this was not a good update for anyone who wasn't already some kind of graal supersoldier. I hope that maybe you take this into consideration & find a way to rebalance the situation.

He made a point here ;) and I have to admit even xmas dungeon is to hard for me. Guardians went to strong, priests will murder anyone without magic resist, it's not worth doing the xmas dungeon anymore for the cheap chest room which shows up rarely

Maybe we need to have an easier crypt in another location for the newbies? Sounds like a compromise.
