Zone and GK

I noticed today that GK and Zone are listed under Playerworlds. Does this mean I now have lifetime classic on Zone and GK?

I was also told that Graal is going Free-to-Play soon. Is that true?

Dragon551 06-04-2013 06:53 PM

No, I don't believe so.
I just logged into GK and it seems like Gold is still a requirement to fully play the server. My level is capped at 10 and I still get the message on top telling me to upgrade my account.

It looks like they just put the Gold and Classic servers under one category, I don't think it'll change the game play.

Well that's dumb z.z

dylan 06-04-2013 09:24 PM

I believe the plan, as it stands, is to rid of Zone and apply GK as a classic server.

There is something planned.

BlueMelon 06-04-2013 09:40 PM

I assume they put it under player worlds because something will change, probably a new type of subscription model or some kind of gelat shop (if it doesn't already have it)

knightfire35 06-04-2013 09:42 PM

I'm really hoping that this is a sign of a new subscription model to come.

dylan 06-05-2013 01:40 AM

Zone has been removed from its Classic status.

If you see it from another perspective, Graal is doing pretty fine with the mobile servers. The pc version just needs some attention and it would be fine.

This. Plus, removing a serving that had 0 players for the majority of the time doesn't really mean much. Though the server list is starting to look real lonely with 5 servers left.

Eh, I didn't really mean the mobile servers, they've only just begun. The PC servers have been in need of attention for a long time now, so it would be fine if that was taken care of but I don't see anything game-changing coming any time soon. Then again, maybe it's just me.

baseman101 06-05-2013 04:04 AM

If Graal PC had access to mobile servers, all would be fine. We have facebook instead.

What do you expect? For Unixmad and Stefan Graal is a business. Of course they focus a platform where they can make good money, and PC is missing attention because of that. They are making 0 profit from people like you with lifetime classic accounts, should be gratefull they didnt remove them at all. I think the first step is made and the gold servers were moved to the classic tab, which is a sign to the right direction. And Im sure more will change soon.

But then the other Server dying out like Era, Zodiac etc, whats the point of that. Better: iOS user should be able to have their accounts (with subscription) being playable on PC too.

Well I know that, it's obvious. But, think about it, why do you think they didn't remove classic accounts? What do you think would've happened? Everyone would've eventually left Graal and that would mean the mobile servers would have less players, meaning they'd have less money. The PC community is hardly returning any sort of profit to them so of course they're not going to focus on it, it's a waste of time.

Also, working on GK doesn't mean you have to be all Pro-Stefan and agree with everything he says, you can have your own opinions too!

Dont worry about my opinion, I do that everyday, thats why GK is on classic/playerworlds tab.

Technically Graal could shut down all the PC stuff and go mobile only. They make enough money from it. The PC stuff is just a bonus, atleast so I see it. MAYBE 500-1000 USD per month? Dont think so many servers/accounts get purchased at all.
Would be interesting if they would publicy some statistics like other companies do, about their volume of sales etc.

You know nothing, thats the sad part of it. But okay, everybody has his own opinion.
The next few months will show more about all this Classic stuff etc.

A server like iClassic can easily be playable on PC. iEra is a mess so I'd ignore that, and servers like Zodiac and Valikorlia have different gameplay so they wouldn't be in danger.

Agreed.

But I feel like this is a topic meant for its own separate zone :(

Why not just make it so the subscription fee itself an option to give access to iOS servers for PC to PC servers for iOS? One flat rate, no side should be treated more specially.
I understand that there's certain elephants in the room about this idea, but haven't we honestly wanted a Graal where PC and iOS players can play together on the same server.

Crono 06-05-2013 11:55 AM

P2P model is dying out. It's either pay once and play forever (like we had, you know, to play our own content) or F2P with cosmetic and/or convenience purchases.

I like this idea, the thing is though, if unixmad likes it lol. Lets see what will happen though.

I think what Aeko was getting at was that you in your position as GK manager should know better than to respond to obvious baits and off topic posts.

Anyway as long as **** doesn't go pay to win this is a good change.

I disagree with this..... PC Community gave them plenty of stuff that made them profit from mobile servers and also pc hosting servers....
so i disagree with the 0 profit maybe in subscriptions but i don't see iPhone players and androids coming out with any iPhone or PC servers like the PC community has over the years

Well I'm sorry that graal has to keep to commitments it made back in the day. I mean, as a business you definitely want to blame the customer for the shortcomings.

Join pc and iOS
