These are very annoying.

Indeed, this needs to be removed :)

shrimps 01-13-2013 11:01 PM

Who's idea was it to put that in? lol
Just about two weeks ago people were whining for a way to see if someone is AFK even though the playerlist already does that.
Now people complain about this which they asked for? /facepalm

Godoco 01-13-2013 11:07 PM

Agreed

No need to make people mad at me :( Could have just did the sleep gani instead. Point was that there needs to be an easier way to tell whos idle then f7... because it doesnt seem to be easy when 5 people are all named "unknown" and like 2 of them are idle..

Tashkin 01-14-2013 12:26 AM

I personally think F7 was plenty... it only takes a second to press the button and you can see all of the zZ icons. They set after so much time. Most players I know always have it open anyway.

Edit... yes it was just a suggestion it wasn't actually requested by the server as a whole.

Isnt the f7 list now starting automatically when opening Graal? It does for me atleast

Mine opens automatically as well yes.

shrimps 01-14-2013 01:04 AM

Well I have my playerlist set as show account name, so I don't have the problem of "unknown". :(

Yeah but Graal## accounts are even worse way to identify people. And in all honesty, we shouldnt be saying.. well this works for me or this is just as easy.. we don't care about us.. we care about the noobs.. the potential that they just downloaded graal 5 minutes ago.. and do not know anything about the game yet alone how to press f7.. the other day i had to explain to a noob to press "a" to open the door to even get in the trade.. o-o so you can kinda imagine the lack of understanding by new players.. the current system is pretty straight forward and offers an "at a glance" DUH moment.. tho the "z"'s can be anoying to you guys.. doesnt seem to annoy me at all and has helped a few noobs (that ive talked to).. maybe change it to a diff gani? of for all those hell bent on it's removal just change the emoticon to a blank file so you don't see it.

FALSE!!!

It can be however.. see picture below. Because by default, or at least any account I have recently created and used on freshly formated PC's this seems to be default.

MajinDragon 01-14-2013 03:32 PM

I don't see what's so bad, maybe just making them /sleep would be better than having a bunch of floating zZ's.

I have said this too.. I only originally suggested it because Z... matches the Z in the F7.. Some easier method then F7 should exist as long as players do not get DC'd..

Felix_Xenophobe 01-15-2013 08:51 AM

or maybe just disconnect people after 20 mins

If only we could convince players to use the forums more that would be idea to just disconnect. But players I havent seen in months to years have finally gotten in touch with me (from different timezones when i used to be awake those hours) like vartas, harry, abara, cubes, rice theres actually a HUGE list for me at least of people who thought I was dead or just quit playing because they never saw my account anymore.. the smile on there face to know im still playing is absolutely priceless.. sadly if they just used the forums we would have been in touch the whole time.. =/ *sigh* this must be what they ment when they say you cant have cake and eat it too..

I wish stefan could make a feature to hide inactive players from playercount so people stop saying thats the only reason we idle.. while i will admit i have seen a few people *cough* nullify and hl *cough* and others who are just idling to get more hours.. which is pointless in every way imaginable... and then some.

Actually it would be neat to make inactive players invisable.. then theres no ganis, no noobs getting frustrated and rage quitting because people arnt helping them becasue they dont even know what playerlist even is..

Felix_Xenophobe 01-15-2013 09:46 PM

Sorry, could not edit my post.

Here, this should describe my problem perfectly. Imagine I walk into bomboria, notice 2 individuals not partaking in any activities. Not showing any emots, and not chatting or responding. I would logically think they are idle, but they may not be. So to check this I press F7 it opens a playerlist and I notice theres now 3 people nammes unknown. Sadly because the Zz icon is places over there head I have to hover over there name to see what level there in. If there in bomboria we have a match.. But then a problem arises and this exists on ALL os's I have tested graal for. (pc, mac and many distros of linux). Look at the following attachment. The level it show's seems to be false, inaccurate. So I have to proceed to adding more steps to accomplish my mission.. I have to right click them to see who they are. This can be painfully slow depending on the number of people in the level with the same nick.

Sorry JaZoN, you were the first person I noticed "bugged" as I was writting this.

Viewing the playerlist by account is the only way to go. I personally couldn't hand view also obnoxious, forever changing nick names

V5 did this as well.. It hard to explain what causes it. But the problem is the script for the playerlist itself.. Actually since this is something that can't possibily give anyone an advantage over anyone else (and other games with MILLIONS of players do similar animations for idle) it should be optional (off by default if you want).. Unlike the day/night were anyone wearing green or black can easily hide behind some trees and blast you hard core with spells (if we allowed day/night to be optional).. kinda sucks tho that both v5 and v6 do this =/
