Inactivity in players.
Can we have some people start logging back in? I mean, we had a streak of ~20 a day for a while.. then it dropped to nothing.
If we show some motivation, maybe administration will. |
I'd rather have this work the other way round, but why not, I wouldn't mind idling all day again.
|
if only the crypt worked :(
|
One word. Varia.
|
Hey guys- sorry to hear about this.
We're all so busy right now. I don't know any staff member who isn't busy with school or something important in their life. I really hope we can get everything back into the full swing of things as soon as possible. |
We understand where you're coming from, and i can understand why no EM/FAQ/GPs are on, since theres no playercount to manage.. but not much was different three months ago when we had 30-40 a day. I think it was just a more active non-dev team.
If we had a single worker on GK to bring the SLIGHTEST updates, that's all we need. Looking forward to Halloween. |
Me personally i don't like to log onto GK when it had a playercount less than 15 because i can't idle there all day and not be present at home.
But the end of a major holiday sees everyone trying to get back to their normal routine of school and stuff |
I would love to play again.. Though cuz of *forum rules...* i cant :(
|
It's honestly because I log on less often. Activity follows me. Sorry!
|
log in moar :(
|
Just release some updates and put Stefan's name on them, surely the notice that he was a part of the update somehow will rush people into giving the server a try again.
|
admins cant hear you over the sound of gk iphone
|
For just a dollar a day you can support the community of GK and ensure that they live another day. You can rest easily knowing your donation is providing them with clean water, education, medical attention, and clothing.

i'd say it's because of school, but yeah, it's always hard to maintain a playercount on a game that already got low playercount

if a player wants to develop they have to pay to play first and then develop. basically pay to develop. it's then covered by the thin "well no1 asked u 2 do it" veil. good developers got tired of the way things are run and most either quit or completely lost motivation. i spend about 5 minutes a day playing with the level editor for zodiac, for example. |
Who wants to develop for PC Graal when you can make an iPhone server and walk around like Bono these days.
|
Oh god... You've found my weakness. My man-crush for Bono.
|
I log on ok...
But no one but like 2 people are online so it is rly lame you can't even talk to the people online cus they are brazilian or somethin |
Problem is, people are being forced to pay to play Zone, GK. Well at least to experience the servers to their fullest. This has cause people to walk away from the Gold servers, and either go play Classic servers or quit Graal period. Every server that has costed money to play has died after a short while. These servers need to become free to play, and have OPTIONAL Gelet items to be bought to give players a slight advantage. I'm not talking about permanent equitable items or anything of that nature.
What i had in mind for GK as an example, say Potions/Scrolls of Experience. This would be roughly 100 Gelats and grant you say 20% increased EXP for 1 week. Another would be Potion/Scroll of Swiftness, for the same Gelet price users do not have to worry about their weight limit effecting their speed for 1 week or so. There is many many more options that could bring Stefan and Unixmad the income from Graal they are seeking. Right now they are just milking the last drops they can get out of it. And we, the people who are trying to keep these servers populated are getting punished by consistanty buying monthly subscriptions. For Zone i have no idea of anything off the top of my head that could be implemented that would be some sort of income for Stefan/Unixmad, Gelat wise. I'm certain though that you die-hard Zone fans could think of something. Stefan/Unixmad have a chance to salvage things here on Graal. At the current time though, they are not putting in any effort on PC Graal. I been hearing a lot of talk about Iphone Graal, so i assume that is what all the support is going in. Well, I'm not going to buy an Iphone to play Graal, only to be charged on that also. As a summery, basically Graal is not going to last being P2P. (Gold Servers) Comparing Graal to all the other MMO's/MMORPG's that are free, this game is just not worth paying for. Graal needs to follow in the same footsteps as these other games to have a fighting chance. FREE to Play, and you have the option of spending cash (Gelets) to have a slighter advantage over other players. The only thing is, what is implemented needs to be carefully thought out, so it doesn't make these players UBER-OWNAGE. That's my opinion for Gold servers. Hope you enjoyed reading this ~JinChill |
I think the way forward is making Graal free to play with the addition of using grelats to obtain special equipment. It doesn't even need to have stats. I've played plenty of other games where they offer the chance to use real money to buy a cool costume for a month or so. I'm sure people wouldn't mind paying a few grelats to look awesome for a while.
And like you said, offering a means of improving your exp intake for a period of time and various other items like that. |

Bring back Night Police = massive increase in activity.. amirite?

Word. Gotta have some order before you can start thinking about introducing new players to the game.
I'd need help from my trusty cadet Ravenblade though... |

I am sure GK and it's wonderfull staff of FAQ's could answer your questions if you have any. Now that I think of it, who are the FAQ's now-a-days? lol Anyways anything you want to know feel free to Forum PM me but I may not check often so my aim is best.. =p |
I'm pretty sure there are quests and a backstory and all this stuff but I'm sorta thrown in the overworld with no idea what to do. I'll pm you later when in on.
|
It's more like an open-world RPG where you are left to make your own adventure but one by one the kingdoms became inactive and all the new players that joined seemed to push out the old RP ways and made the game all about PKing.
Back when the Kingdoms were populated, RPing existed and there was kingdoms events, wars and get-to-togethers Graal was an awesome game to play. |
i wouldn't know since I only played classic back in the day. :/
|
Hey guys, lets create some adventure on GK. We could go do maps that cost way too much, or we could go to crypt if it decides to work, or we could idle in trade, or we could buy dest scrolls and further ruin the already crippled economy. All of these options are much fun!
|
Or we can be like Nullify, further crippling the server by never logging on to be king of a kingdom.
If there was more life in kingdoms we could have more wars... and that's what makes me want to log in. Perhaps you should start managing your Kingdom, or give it away. I don't doubt if you wait long enough someone else will do it for you. |

Thanks to cyan3/Felix for being such a sweetheart. +rep

I'm sure there are more pressing issues for GK than kingdoms. Could explain why the kingdom leaders keep leaving, yes?

Kingdom leaders keep leaving because there is no other Kingdom leaders/members to arrange events, battles and other fun activities with. Honestly, when I was Governor of CP the only person I could to talk to about joint-kingdom activities was Craigus. Samurai hasn't really had an "approachable" leader for some time. Zormite has always been keen but sadly always had lacked of members.
