What Next?
 
I've been waiting for instructions from on high; Stefan. Not anymore.

What do you guys want? We'll use this thread to throw out suggestions and for general discussion. After that I'll boil the best down and have a vote.

Keep it simple, I'm not interested in making Zone 2.0 from this thread. A good example is sticky grenades. A single new game mechanism to improve on existing game mechanics... freshen things up a bit. Remember, keep it simple or gtfo. :cool:

I've suggested this plenty of times before... here it goes.

Basically, more achievements on Zone.

(medals for example) I spent a lot of time playing just to get them all, also another good example is the light saber. when I was a noob my only aim would be to be soldier so I could use the awesome lightsaber!

Achievements that cross my mind right now...

Class required to have the ability to purchase certian guns; like you can't use redrifle unntil you're marshall, greenrifle until you're general etc etc,.

I'll post more when I find the post I made time ago...

Add another spar room, then /setsparroom 3,muramasa,lightsaber,combatknife etc etc

Make a 2 vs 2 spar room.

Don't really care for jumping, it was just an idea. But using weapons while crawling I would still love to see, even if it was only applied to light weapons.

Zone used to have a happy trial community. Then their HP got lowered to 80 and they were no longer able to take part in guilds. Once this happened the guild community on Zone died. Trials were then having their stats and everything saved but still crippled, further chasing away Zone's trial community. It's no surprise that no one plays the server anymore.

My game point weapon shop idea:

After an iricia or whatever planet round, winning team will be awarded some points they can spend to rent some guns players cant get anywhere else.

Why start ANOTHER thread?!

Use the damn search function, there is hundreds of suggestions laying around these forums.

Edit:

Make some incentives for Stefan to take the Observer mode off Zone :cool: (this will be the rebirth of Zone)

I know it's a Gold server and all, but just higher the limitations.

Such as:
-Not able to use
Certain Classes (more)
The Shop
Certain Worlds
ect

I still like the "Win Points" idea that Tsu, (I think) came up with. I couldn't find the link but it's pretty much this -
The more games you win on any planet, the more win points you recieve. There's prizes that can only be bought from win points. Hopefully that'll keep people focused on the actual gameplay rather than laming for kills.

tbh, i'd love to be able to have an option of monthly weapon prizes, and perm prizes, of course perm would be very seldom as you said.

make the win points give perm weapons, we could do like doubleshot as a high win-point prize, photons, ect. of course we keep the rare rare, like reapers, rps/bps, twinblades, but we could use some of the semi-rares.

just makes me wonder how hard it'd be to implement this without asking too much of Stefan.

Even though u said to keep it simple I would like to see a class with unique abilities.

Not just a class that can only use some certain guns but a class that maybe is capable of assisting/ supporting in defending a base, for example being capable of making his own turrents that has a healthbar or whatever.
Anything that makes it worth fighting for base, taking a base should be more challenging.

Also, imo there are to many useless planets.

Make all looks and all classes available to trial accounts. I guarantee this will spike the player count. Nobody is going to buy gold simply for new looks and different classes.

So far it seems like Crono's suggestions are the best, do you guys agree or do you feel I'm ignoring some other important ideas?

Well apart from those the next major gripes I have will be difficult to fix as it's related to the way the shops work now (monthly items) and the cash shop.

I personally have no problem with the cash shop, although there's certainly room for improvement. However, monthly purchases seem perfectly acceptable to me. What sort of improvements did you have in mind?

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't weapons and jetpacks only last one month? If so, I don't like that. I liked it when I finally got enough money to buy the blue rifle. It was then mine. I didn't have to re-buy it every month. (of course I still don't, hehe)

The cash shop contains unbalanced weapons. There was a pistol that pretty much had an edge over every other. I wouldn't know the details, as I quit right before this was released.

Zone needs a roleback or whatever they call that, Make zone how it was 6 months ago. Then start developing again, think about the updates you make.

playercount. Ya sure they are good ideas, but they wont revive Zone, trust me.

Try comming up with something new and attractive to players, give them a goal, a reason to play Zone. That's why my idea would be a bigger but better project in the end result.

But ya sure, I'll encourage Zone to get even worse with fail updates. Ya, for sure my idea would need revision to prevent abuse and all but it is a project that may be good in the end unlike all the other ideas I saw in this thread.

Seems the best.

The first 4 ideas would only be like releasing a new planet, a sudden small burst in players. Once the problems in the thread I linked come into play, and the concept gets old, Zone just drops dead once again.

This might be the only "okay" idea.

Although trials aren't really limited much anymore besides classes (Ohwhoo).

Can't figure out what you're trying to change with the system here.

To wrap it all up, there's no minor change that I can see being made to bring back the full potential of Zone. The game play is too repetitive and dull, not to mention not very newb friendly; Meaning you kill off any new players that thought about playing.
