Era Levels
 

I got some advice from someone I cant remember who... But thanks anyways to him. ^^

Now and in the future I will post my levels in this thread (You can do it to if you want).
And please rate, and if it's bad then please tell me what's bad so I can improve it in the future. ;)

Here's a level that I made that was mean't to be for Chrisz's Mansion, a office. Tried to make it like the same levels downstairs.

For an office, its bad. For Chrisz mansion office, its fine. Seeing as it'd hardly be used.

But could you maybe tell me why you think it's bad? So I maybe can fix it.

I don't like the floor tiles. The pinkish carpet going through the level is out of place, and the darkened wood surrounding it just looks funny.

I'm not sure why an office would have explosive gas barrels or ammunition lying around.

The general shape of the level feels a bit too symmetric.

Besides those flaws, it's a decent level.

lol remove the cans and the crate, also make the tables at the top pop out where the columns are, it makes it look more realistic and nicer.

Okay, I just got bored with the office, so I made it to a police office instead.

Here is it.

Doesn't look bad.. Tough that red carpet is ugly there if you ask me..
+ one detail, have you ever seen empty boards on a table on a police office :D

I wanna work there, They have nice drinks.. (Middle table)

To be honest, theres too much **** everywhere, get rid of some of the stuff, it looks like a clutter room.

As a person who has LAT'ed for Noctorious and is supposed to go over the top and put **** everywhere, id say this is waaaaay to much.

Plus 1 table has a bit of a curve into the wall and one has a curve going into the walkway, make it a little less copy/pasted.

and as for your mr name, you need to give back my crizen, its my only gun :/

I know it's very chaos lol, im thinking about making a whole new level instead. ;)

well i like it cause its sure look like a dam police office, but the last desk could use more space or make it like this _| |_

Could use some interesting lighting... and I don't mean random lights thrown about.

Yes, I could add lighting...

But it would just become a black box with white in... The only way that I can show it with lights is that it is on a server.

Why? Level editor is fully capable of rendering lights.

you're doing it wrong.

don't take a screenshot of the level in edit mode. go into play mode then take one.

Im having a project kinda, where im gonna make a "Zombie Acalypse" factory, and with a sewer under the factory.

I've had little time lately though... So for now there's only one level, and here it is (It's two pictures of one level).

Need to learn a new stair technique, it's super boring.

I know the stairs are just outa' place, they dont fit the design... :(

Im trying to make some images to that I could use in the levels... But im doing something wrong, and they dont appear in the level.

Would been nice if someone could explain why, and tell me what to do to make the image shown in the Level Editor.

I wanna add my OWN made graphics to, but they wouldn't show. :/

I myself think the level is only 3/10.

What program are you using for your images? if you're just using the default paint program on your computer the images tend to not work..

So I would recommend getting paint.net, here is a link http://paint.net/ it's a free program.

Also, depending on where your level is saved makes all the difference, when I need to make a new image for a level I have to save the level and the image in the same folder. So on my computer what I did was created a folder on my desktop called "Era Levels" and that's where all my era_*.nw and images are saved.

Well, first I wanna say thanks for answering this. I really needed an answer. ^^

Second, I use GIMP and it's free and an Exellent pixel software. ;)

But, I tried your tip but still it didnt work... Mhmmm, lemme download that program and see. I will proably update this post if it works or not soon. :)

Need to make sure it's indexed(256 color mode/8-bit). Also, make sure you save it in Graal's folder and delete FILENAMECACHE from Graal's folder before you start the editor up.

Well, I just opened the image with newest Paint.NET and saved.

And it worked! :D
