Modern Yet Different:In need of Develoeprs
 

We're going to have it to where you buy cars and you can fix them up. Also, you can upgrade the cars to give them more hp and go around doing races to get money. Also, you can race against your friends and players will be able to watch these races. You also can control them by an NPC and will include how we're going to have different jobs such as Mafia tasks (increasing levels in Mugging, which will open ranks such as Street Thug Associate Soldier Enforcer, Hit man and many more) will be unlocked as you increase levels. For each rank you have to do, certain levels will have to be earned for that job field for that rank :. We will also have Mining. Also, for players, we will have guns, many cars which will obviously be like real cars (which can be fixed up as previously mentioned). We will also have events and etc.

Fix that up please and tell me what you think

Also, adding your health will be disturbed by Energy Stamina and Health. You will be able to fight bosses at levels and group with other mafia members (to do task easier such as fights). There will be team fights in missions which will help make money easier. You will be table to earn more health energy or Stamina by growing Profile points that will be added to which Status you want. You will also make more money and reset energy when experience is fully reached.

Sounds like your trying to break away from the "era= modern" style, quite interesting. I wanna see ware this goes. Agreed with papachris , try and keep some color in the server.

But also I want to add that if we allow you to walk on the streets you can maybe get a ticket or something like for jay walking and after certian ammount of warnings jail time?

No I mostly need a few images like the cars stop signs stop lights such like that and maybe more later on, I am mostly needed in GANIS and Leveling. Thats what we need the most. We also do need quite abit of scripting help with this idea not to say our scripting team isn't great.=]

playerran governments can NOT work. People will abuse. Do not do it.

I prefer being able to walk on the streets, but Bravo didn't allow walking on the streets and some people liked that. IMO just make the streets more dangerous - getting ran over by cars. However, if it was up to me, i wouldn't do either of these.

Another era-tileset clone, sigh. Isn't that the tileset from Kuji's modern server? Or atleast an edit of it?

Well I also want to make it so only mafia members can have guns and the more rank you get you get more money by killing people and get bounty and you have stars under you and the more that are lite mean the more your wanted by the cops and ways you can make money is being cop or the mafia or racing.

You should borrow ideas and the setting from Borderlands, that game looks like it'll be great.

Metropolis City environments are so Era.

Also I want to make it so ordinary members cam do petty jobs suchi as mining and fishing,and only recieve medicocre guns and weapons. But mafia members will get more guns as they do misisons and get higher in the family and racing more rep you get more races unlocked and upgrades to your car.

We wil make it for racing section you can add hp to your car and make it faster by the upgrades you get and the more street credit you get by winning races.

Most ways to make money will be by being a cop who runs the government ( I understand this can be abusive but we will have logs like crazy that will make sure this works and if causes problems that can't be solved it will be gone.) and the Mafia were when you get more into the family ranks and do more missions you will get more perks.

This seems a lot like "Mafia Wars", the facebook and myspace application.

However, some of the ideas you presented haven't been done...although, there are a few reasons as to why these haven't been done.

Firstly, your racing scenario.
How will races be performed, circuit races would require an insanely scripted hit detection and a course script would also have the be scripted which could take a while.

Secondly, modifying the cars. How would you do this? Have seperate graphics for each bits say for example a sticker that is located on the car via x and y variables or would you have the graphics team make every single car accommodate every single mod and adjust the players car image as necessary?

Thirdly, having horsepower increases, this is an interesting idea, but, this would clash with a max. speed detection to see if somebody is using a speed hack or a wall hack etc.

On another note, you seem to not have a set goal in mind. You are throwing out ideas left, right and center that you don't seem to know you are actually going to implement.
For example, you are asking the forumers if you should let people walk on the streets. Surely this would be your decision and you would weigh up the pros and cons and do some other information, considering most of the forumers don't actually play and deduce a decision from that.

Finally, the ideas of the families, mafia ranks and access to guns. This could be a good idea. However, once you have players that have developed and own the guns and have the trophies and worn the t-shirt so to speak, there will be a huge imbalance between the achieved and those trying to achieve. Access to guns would be a big factor. Just iamgine having someone with a top spec gun always picking on the little guy. It's like this on Era, however, it's not such a big gap as everyone has access to the guns, it all depends on money.

I think overall there are some good ideas and if brought about, could make some changes. I think you must realise though that with Era out there as being a modern server, this server has very little chance of reaching the classic tab.
