https://help.ubuntu.com/7.04/keeping...C/updates.html

It's not the same version but I'd imagine it still applies, you seem new to Linux so Good luck.

Umat 10-05-2009 09:06 PM

Eh, I got the same problem with glibc (I run Debian, which is basically the same as Ubuntu). Even though it's installed the graal-installer won't find the lib. I have the latest possible version of glibc...

I 've gotten it to work before on previous computers, but I don't remember how.

cyan3 10-05-2009 09:39 PM

I've done many reinstalls of my Ubuntu and have no problems with installing Graal. Judging that it's a new installation of 9.04 it should be working without any problems.

Edit: Didn't notice he was using 9.10. In the interest of testing I will download 9.10 and install it on another partition so I can still boot 9.04 if I need to.

I will install it tomorrow on my old hard drive so I don't break my partitions and to prevent loss of data on my normal hard drive.

The installation of Graal on Ubuntu 9.10 is working without any errors.

Skyld 10-07-2009 02:01 AM

Are you using 32-bit or 64-bit and having the problem?

If you are trying to install it onto a 64-bit system, you might get some errors if there is no good 32-bit version of glibc installed also (because the Linux client is currently 32-bit, it requires its dependencies to also be 32-bit).

Umat 10-07-2009 02:40 AM

He's running 32-bit. I've already gone through the glibc stuff with him. I had the same issue on debian. I got it to work. When I tried to replicate it by telling him to the exact same stuff, it still didn't work. :/

Umat 10-09-2009 12:41 PM

lol
don't run the installer as root this time. Check in your home-directory if the game is in there somewhere.

It's not out publically, but for test users, as far as I know.

Not in this case.
It's handed out personally to the beta testers. That's what I meant in previous post.

OK i've just installed Ubuntu 9.10 64bit version and I'm getting the lovely "cannot find glibc" as well as "Killed" when trying to run RC.

Could some lovely person provide instructions to fix these issues? :D

[Edit] Installing ia32-libs seemed to resolve the glibc dependency and the game appears to be running fine =D

This hasn't resolved the RC issue however

Check that you have libgtksourceview installed on your system (and make sure that it's the 32-bit version of the library, too, or it won't work.)

Stefan posted a 64bit RC on the forums. Just used that instead =]

MrDunne 08-20-2010 02:39 PM

NPC Code:
Remote-Control connected.
gserver has sent an empty data package

I seem to be getting this error every time I try to connect to a server in RC.

RobinX 09-07-2010 02:45 AM

Did you get this installed? I've never had any issues -- use a terminal.

It is on your gnome desktop so:

cd ~/Desktop/
chmod 755 graal4setup
./graal4setup

should install fine, I've never had any problems running this on any distro

Edit: spelling

The problem has already been fixed ages ago :)

Edit: I'm the same as you, I've never had any problem installing Graal via the Terminal but many others have problems with it.
