Not old at all.. it was just recently recoded into GS2.. I think era's the only GS2 classic server.

Just about everything was rescripted in the last 6 months.

Era isn't Atrius, sorry. We don't just redo the entire server whenever we get bored.

Not everything is GS2, but alot of it is.
Mainly, the clientside stuff isn't GS2, apart from the system NPC.
Playermovement, weapon types [grenades, guns] are clientside.

Better be.

Anyways I think the reason why the economy is so messed up is because people that previously owned businesses/gangs get it back absolutely free, making it extremely easy for them to earn money causing the economy to become unbalanced.

There's a lot more ways to distribute businesses/gangs.
1. Obviously there's the Auction House that way the people that worked the hardest will get it.
2. You can publicly vote for it, but with a limited amount of candidates mostly previous owners/co-owners. Select who you think is best for the job. For example, for Black Holst you can vote between Meph, Gsput, Kae, and ionno Warhead? That way we prevent useless gang leaders and it will keep gangs active.
3. You can let staff decide and let them pick what they think is best.

I favor the 1st choice for businesses. If you're going to work hard why can't you be the one that becomes the richest?

The 2nd choice for gangs. If you're a gang leader atm and you're truly a good one then people will vote for you, if you don't like this idea there's obviously a reason why.

I think we should bring back the taxing system. That way even though the business sells something that costs a huge amount of money like colts (4300) there's still a way to stop them from gaining immense amts of cash.

Also when there's an item that's not stocked the owner of the business loses money over time.

There's the weapons' parts shop which makes the owner of the business use around 1000g to make the gun, but obviously it's not enough. Same for gangs and their gang weapons.

Also to prevent someone from selling gang guns and earning 500k (Maverick) I also think we should consider tag locking gang guns. That way people won't want them as much, and it will keep the gun a "gang gun." Also it will make people stay in gangs keeping gangs as active as possible.

The tax system applies to Ammo Mart at the moment.. instead of getting free bats.. i pay 4$? lol

Also.. if we taglock the guns.. you will never be able to use it for longer then a month, every other month :p ( as in you switch gangs too much :O)

And a simple thing to fix that is: Don't put people in charge who would do something like that.

Are you people out of your mind? Starting from scratch is retarded, the server just has to be reset and things need to be straightened out in order to get the economy on the right track.

Use your brains people. Totaly redoing a server would either take realy long, or never get finished.

- Be better off.. this world isnt like 2k1's world which I'd miss if it was completely redone... I'd probally say YAY if this world was scrapped.. as long as they brought the driving school back :D.
- Era's economy has been messed up so for so long... if you think the amount of items and money are a lot... I used to walk around with about 10 mill.. everyone did. And if you died and lost 1 mill you wouldn't care (besides the fact that everyone had every gun and 99999 ammo) cuz.. money was nothing :p

Anyway: As much as I want a reset.. I find this vote VERY unfair.

Normally with resets comes loss of players which usually find there way to a different server. Now knowing this... other players from other servers that NEVER even played era are coming here and voting yes which basically steals players.. blah blah.. Also the fact that people who paid for 40 accounts are voting (ex: Cubes.. meph etc..)

Also... I'd like to add that there should be a requirement of 100 hours to vote and then a recount ;).

I find it funny that this thread has more than double the ammount of views than the forum rules... :rolleyes:

I also counter-retort that you yourself have been too slothly to put in the effort to make your character as good as those of myself and the couple of hundred others that voted against a reset. With that in mind I propose that your attitude is opportunistic, and I can only assume that you have taken your stance on the basis that a server reset will take away our edge over you in PVP.

People, you have to master a gun, not just have one that does crazy damage to be l33t. You actually have to be good. Plus, Soooo much fun, my god, I still remember old Era. Wow. Just think about it. Maybe not so much 4 guns, or 4 gangs, but not so much all this complex small biz crap/ reset me i worked hard dont do it cry cry cry bs... Just simple, extra fun, Era.
