I like Essence's reaction.
"This doesn't look like Graal." |
These comments are real nice to read.. But three minutes ago I decided to shut down the server (probably temporarily). I realized working on it for at least 10 hours a day, 2 weeks straight and losing alot of sleep isn't healthy. Probably because I'm a type of guy who likes to do things a 100% or nothing at all.
I'm just going to have to really think about my plans on the server and hopefully let you know what those plans are soon. I don't want to make the same mistake again. |
Sleep is just going to break your momentum. Don't sleep until the server is 120% complete.
|
sleep is for the weak
|
Yeah you guys do have a point, but healthy amount of sleep=more focus.
|
Man, these updates are killer bro! Seriously. I don't care if this server takes you an entire year to create! Don't burn out bud, take your time-- everyone is excited about your work here on graal.
|
You always quit after we do a news feed. :(
|
Coming from someone who too has a server and hasn't had it for long, I 100% understand! It's like you can't sleep and you get up in the middle of the night and are like "I could add this!" (Ctrl + I). So yah. Get lots of sleep and come back strong! WE NEED SERVERS LIKE THIS. (:

This is so sad to hear, for real. This server would be a big up for Graalonline, something new, something exciting, something we havenīt really seen in long time.
I think you should make a schedule when to work, when to not work, and just sleep whenever you feel tired. Dont feel any pressure at you man, you donīt have any, believe me. I can wait a long time for this server, its worth the time waiting. I hope to see you come back on your feets again, but maybe with a schedule or something like I just said, something that will make you able to work, get sleep and just enjoy it. Donīt make it your job, make it your hobby. Good luck brother, I hope too see it back soon very soon again <3 |

Something new to the table will show up, I am sure. |
Wow, I'm surprised at how supportive the Graal community can be :), I'm really grateful.
Right now, at 6:30 AM while I'm writing this and having been thinking for hours I'm happy to tell you my decision has been made. I am simply changing my approach, and I'm definitly not quitting. Quote:
The server right now is just set to staffonly, I think there's a connection between me being burned out and having it be in the public while it's still under heavy construction, the pressure was high because a positive first impression is of high importance. After having over 300 unique visitors on the server within one day after the news feed I don't think of it as that bad making it staff only, or is it? Quote:
Although I definitly have ideas I am bound to execute which I consider to become 'new and exciting', I just don't like to magnify the theoretical side of things, rather to actually SHOW the people when it's done. And aside from that I am more grounded in my plans of taking the right approach on gameplay, content and a well nurtured economy to have those three components in the right balance. In order to create what in my eyes would be a fun, socially engaging, skill oriented, refreshing experience without any real sense of 'grinding' and repeating a mundane process 1000s of times to be at a certain level to compete fairly with others. All of this would be something 'new and exciting', or would it not? |
I went on Eurpopa to check how things were going and im impressed with your progress ^^
|
Vinka, I don't deny that you'll, at the very least, do something interesting with your server. Don't get me wrong, I totally expect good things in the future.
|
You haven't been sleeping just to reach my pretty-ness needs?! Your meant to sleep...
... But now I feel bad. I wanna be just like Vinka when I grow up, he's my hero! - Baby Kiwi, in his Graal-tastic dream the night before :0 |
