I ujst realized that zulites look like those 2 legged things from metroid... you know, the ones that ar big and they jump around and kill you, and the metriod sux all of it's energy out of them? I hope no one said this before in this thread...

Started on it. Template is missing way too much still: no sitting, no sleeping, no getting hurt, no dying, no lifting/carrying from the sides...I added that, but I mean, c'mon, I'm a scripter, and a busy one at that.
First priority I think should be getting them at the level of humans, like the Baddy Skin, once they can do the basic stuff we can make them roll around and stuff...that's easy, I could code a weapon for Rolling in half an hour if I had a complete Zulite, capable of walking and stuff. Here's my ganis and very-slightly-added-to template. The enclosed level is just basically the Baddy Skin, I got halfway through the replaceanis and realized there's no way I can finish it as is...swim and lava are easy, I can just put the rolling animations instead of the regular heads in those, I guess the same for sleep, but there's no sitting or shooting or any of the important default thingies. Maybe instead of shooting it rolls? *shrugs* |
We NEED to get going on this again!! People, we're just letting this drop further and further behind. I remember the Zulite promo graphic I made ages ago. Maybe I should post it here again to try and get some more insentive. We've gone too far on this to just stop, but we have. WE NEED TO GET STARTED ON IT AGAIN!!!!! :( :(

zulites should move really slow underwater, so the need to jump ontoa bomy (player or pet) and ride them over=)
and bomys and zulits should join forces and kill pkers ( the ones int he admin house who stole 10g of me=( ) |

If someone does the Graphics and GANIs, the scripting's a cinch. The trouble is nobody's ever done the GANIs for everything - they get it to walk and roll, but what good does that do when faced with a bed, or water, or a sodding chair?

Well, it'll go on A server when it's done. G2K1 has priority at the moment, but who knows how long that'll last - G2K2 might want it, or G2K1 might pass it to Classic (not sure how well THAT would go over), or a PW might get it. Hard to say.

It wasn't some super arrogance on Zulithe's part, Tyhm chose the name Zulite because it was Zulithes idea. :)

Okay... after an incredibly LONG delay I present the new zulite skin and brand-new ganis.
Some things have been added to the skin, such as:
Pretty much 90% of all ganis that could possibly be needed. Only one I can think of that is missing is one for when the zulite is ENTERING water (the actual swimming ganis are present, however) Four speeds of rolling ganis (maybe need more?) Keep in mind Tyhm (or whoever will continue the script) The Zulite can't actually "sit" so there are no need for sitting sprites. When it sits it goes into it's curled position. When it moves while sitting (you know how when Humans sit on a bench and move around, it looks like they are sliding?) instead of doing this "sliding" it will roll (at the lowest rolling speed which is labeled "slowest") Umm let's see what else... okay lifting and carrying. Someone better at ganis than me will probably need to check the ganis I made for these two things, I made them and included the attrib for carried items but the placement is off. Basically the Zulite will lower itself into curl position, grab the item, place it on it's head, stand back up and then it can walk around with the item on it's head to carry it (this is the only logical way I could come up with other than holding in one hand and hopping on the other, which I think is silly) Of course if it is damaged while carrying in this way it will drop the item (just as humans do) I didn't include any shooting gani for bows or anything, but I guess those are possible. Also "impact" ganis for when they hit a wall or something while rolling are not there yet. There is the "pound" gani which I think is rather neat for when the Zulite does a pound attack (hopefully this can be scripted, it may be some special move that the Zulite race can learn over time or through a quest, but it's something I think should be included) So overall, this should be enough for the scripting to continue. Hopefully someone better at ganis (Dante?) Can do the remaining ganis in a creative way, or I can do them if the scripter scripts a level so that I can test the ganis in-game (would be far far easier for me to do it this way, as some things like falling into water I will need water to make sure the overlay looks proper) |

REALLY neat..Except I think everything has to be slowed down (like walk speed,attack,etc.But it's really cool!\I want to see rolling around be added..*wants to bounce around like a soccer ball*The life meter looks original I think and I wanna see me get killed and watch that go down @_@

hmm. There needs to be a zulite hurt gani still, and I suggest you redo the pull gani. it just looks weird from the side. :)
also, the HUD isn't working for me. :(( |
