Sounds like your ultimate goal is to "beat" Era. If you keep comparing everything you do with Era, odds are you're going to fail like every other wannabe server. So far, all I see a 1930's Era with nice graphics...your idea for capturing buildings is something that has been tossed around on Era for ages.

Start thinking more about what Mafia Life can do differently and less about what it can do better than Era.

I kindly noted that we had no intention of copying, beating, or comparing to Era. So how does it "sound" like our ultimate goal is to do so? I never once compared anything to Era, nor did I try to do so. Just because an idea has been tossed around on Era, doesn't mean that it's up and the idea has been revealed to the public eye? There are many things that we plan to do "different" than Era. I don't plan on doing anything "better" than them, because once again like I said.. we aren't trying to compare to them.

Well considering that I've already explained the situation to Decus about what was happening with me being the Admin, what you're saying doesn't really come into play. I never said anything about irl problems getting in the way, although there have been minor things that have been preventing to get on as much as I want to, that isn't the issue. So if you want to talking about me "being the admin", you should talk to Decus. I have a priority with Mafia Life which I am going to fulfill before I work with you guys again. And you can't say anything about the past because I did a ****load of work for you guys regardless of what you say. =/

Should I bring up the history of how you told me a week or so ago about how you were only helping a server for a little bit because you got paid, and you were back to help us and never logged again? I was also talking about MY irl issues I told you about, thats why I said I explained them.

Also, like I said, I'm not being unappreciative, its just, this already happened once with you sage...

I posted my post before seeing yours, but I was referring to some of the owner's posts where he's "bashing era" as someone else already said.

What's wrong with guns on Graal? Even Valikorlia has guns.

Alright, let me clarify things up to this point. As far as the bodies.. when Izzy says "RP" I think he's going a bit out of context as to what the actual concept behind having them is. Really, it's not trying to "limit" anyone or say that someone can't have or do whatever. We're merely defining our own personal looks for the server, so that things don't get all weird looking and have a bunch of odd looking characters running around pretending to be a mafia family.. with the body system, there really aren't any limits what so ever, they are actually THE most extensive/customizable bodies on Graal to date. With this, you're basically ensured that none of your characters will look exactly alike (Unless of course, you want them to.). Really it all comes down to personal opinion on whether you like them or not, and if you wouldn't play the server just because of that than so be it.

it's so customizable that i can't wear a fish-head and be apart of the fish-head-mafia

sounds lame

Sounds like having a decent idea of what they want the server to be. ;)

sounds like they have a wonderful idea of their custom bodies on paper, and expecting great things from Sage. Great things that will inevitably not be as impressive as they sound

unneeded limitations, really

sssssssssss 07-10-2010 12:44 AM

Sounds good. Seriously. The ideas are innovative for a gun server. But I as a 1999 player can't see it as I have only logged on Era once or twice since it came out.

Also, to bump, it just doesn't seem like enough to keep players going forever. Repeatable quests can only be repeated so much for a player, and although dons and mafia are the ****, seriously (and I really like the idea), w/o more things to keep guilds (families) and players going, as well as disabling global guilds which is another farce to graal being even zodiac has enabled global guilds now, it just doesn't seem more than a problem to a solution and solves some slight time and fun. Think about that for a min. xD

I, as much as anyone, want to see multiple good servers. Granted I am an admin, and basically naysayer to everything, on Armageddon, I want to see the game grow. This is why I am saying what I am saying. Constructive critism in a sense and advice. Think about what I've said please, and expand server ideas. Along with that, dont ignore global guilds, period. That is what graal provides to create when you p2p. Dont ignore it.

Yes, because what a server set in the 1930s United States needs are fish-people. Your game design ideas are revolutionary!

To address Jerrets issues with the monopoly effect, it is really something we're going to have to go to the playground with and see how well the slide slips, and the see-saw rocks. We have some rather well planned out systems for how things will work which in the end will take a little tweaking and tinkering of course, but in the end should hopefully work out for the best.

We're not trying to clone or even compare to Era in any way, I mean yes.. there will be guns, and yes.. there will be a lot of killing with guns, but that doesn't mean we're imitating Era.. are we using the same style as Era in regards of game play? Yes, but that's just how things are. Really there isn't much besides guns and killing you can base a Mafia server around, so what do you expect? All in all.. we're just hoping to make a fun server that people will enjoy and or respect. If not, well than at least we had fun trying.

PS: Sorry for any mis-communications Izarius may have brought to this thread. ^^

I am bad with that stuffs =P Thanks Sage!

I don't think it's a big deal, but he points out "no it's not an RP server, you can make your character look any way you want, except if it's not the way you're supposed to look in this setting".

IzariusRyudo 07-10-2010 01:04 AM

Anyway, I am sorry my text can be misread, I even tried to show you I don't mean to "Bash" era at all. But what else can we compare it too, when everyone else compares us to Era? We will be completely different.

PM me if you want to talk over skype vent :)
