This is getting ridiculous. I have read the graphics forum for a long time and it seems that so many of these threads turn in to ego battles. I don't even bother getting involved with this stuff because so much of it becomes a waste of time on the part of everyone.
When it comes right down to it, being able to pixel isn't an all-to-prestigious skill. It's a fun little hobby that holds little significant application other than that (unless your goal in life is to develope halfassed Korean RPGs). If someone wants to act as though he or she is royalty for having that skill then so be it. I knew guys that acted like they were God's gift to man because they often won local Remote-Controle Car races. Would you like to know what happened to them? After a while, everybody hated them and the men completely lost interest in the event. CONGRATULATIONS TO THEM. I'm sure Elk gets the message by now. You're not going to verbally beat maturity into him. If he wants to continue his ways then let him. These constant dork fights aren't going to solve anything. |

An important thing to remember, when posting your work (speaking in general here) in the Development forums, is that we are not perfect, our work is not perfect, and everyone has different tastes, and sees things differently.
Some people will love your work, others will not. These people who do not like your work may offer ways they think you can improve on your work. Isn't that the point of posting your work? My advice is: If you cannot handle some people not liking your work, or a piece of your work, and you cannot handle people giving you advice to make something look better, then do not post your work. We do not allow outright bashing of someones work here, but constructive critisism is allowed, and should be/is appreciated for the most part, so if you can't handle it, it would be better not to post your work. @Elk, your work is really good. So some people don't like this particular piece of work, so what. Just because one piece of work is not liked, doesn't mean you aren't good. I hate most famous paintings that go for thousands, if not millions of dollars too, does that mean they aren't good because I don't like them? No, it just means they simply are not my taste. Someone must like them, since these famous artists are...well...famous. ;) |

and thats where you're stuck and wll be or a long ass time because you don't listen. i don't give a **** if your graphics look decent/good today. they will never improve with that attitude and its not like you're godlike at gfx. i put people like tom, galdor, pkt and such higher than you. your work may look like it's as good as theirs, but they're constantly improving and take feedback. you don't and suffer from it. gg, then again i dont really care so why am i posting here? XD |
