I always assumed: 'Myoor as ah moon eh'

Or something like that. Hard to express phonetics across the internet.

Frolic_RC2 02-15-2002 08:45 PM

Gah..this will be hard....

Mir - a - sa - moon

The mir part is supposed to be said like the beginning of "*Mir*ror".

Has this been confirmed as the correct Japanese pronunciation?

There is no "correct Japanese pronuctiation" considering its not a Japanese word *to my knowledge*, and I pronounced it how I pronounce it. Heh, if you want to find out how the Japanese would pronounce it, be my guest. I wouldn't mind finding out if you did :D.

Considering that it has obvious Japanese origins (combination of "Murasame" and "Masamune", it seems) I think you're probably obligated to use the correct pronunciation. As for finding out what that is, I suppose you could ask someone who knows a little about Japanese. Dante might be able to help, I suppose.

Heh, maybe, but the way I see it there is no correct way to pronounce a word...Japanese have a completely different language, and they would pronounce it one way. But I suppose you are right....

I agree with kaimetsu, I believe that would be the proper way to say it, with the "eh" on the end, seeing as how that's what it would come out like in japanese.. I took french and it's pretty much the same thing.

'Myoor as ah moon eh' is how I have been pronouncing it.

LOL That is why I made my pw easy to say. "Oasis" isn't the hardest word in the world to pronounce. :D

Shorty2Dope 02-16-2002 03:44 AM

someone should ask dante.. or post me a wav file of sum1 sayin it lol.. I can't pronounce it :(

konidias 02-16-2002 03:45 AM

Actually if I remember correctly, wasn't the story like... the Murasame and Masamune are two swords, and they were placed in a river, and Murasame cut the leaves that floated by, while the Masamune let them pass, meaning that the Murasame sword was cursed/evil, and the Masamune sword was not cursed/holy.

That's what I vaguely remember about that.

So basically the title would be the two swords coming together? heh heh

I think its something like that, I also heard something like that about the Murasame leaving no blood from the wounds while the Masamune is bloddy

Falcor 02-16-2002 05:50 AM

I always thought it was.

Mur - AS - ah - myune-

Hmm its somewhat how the last area of the story will go, only thing is it won't be a sword, it will take the shape of the weapon you are most skillful with (in other words, most used weapon)...

Frolic_RC2 02-16-2002 09:36 AM

Woah...I wish I could show people this. The character matches so incredibly with the tiles and everything now...I just sit there and walk around and its so cool. I am adding most of the "classified features" from now on so I will no longer be giving as much information. Sorry, I wish I could show this stuff, but I have shown more then most other PW owners have, and I think its been a nice mini intro. The next time I give info will be when I finish all the systems, and when I submit. Thats about it...gah...*is so tempted to show walking screens - but will not :(*
