That's somewhat what I suggested. I agree.

Well a few servers like Oasis and that S-omething Ages one were given to the owners free of charge based on killer content, so there is precedent for it.

But I haven't seen anybody meeting those standards in a long time.

Motivation is a major factor for, I believe, all of us. For me, theres no hope in graal until a nice playerworld comes along.

Wrong
;)
nice graphics and levels and scripts can attract NEW players, but it is usually up to the community to KEEP players. You can't start a new server with bad content, and expect to form a good community with it. And you can not expect a playerworld to attract new players with bad content either. True, new players generally go to the playerworld with the most people, but that is because there is really no playerworld on now with exceptional quality. I think a playerworld could gain a good playerbase with good development, then keep it by forming a community.

Besides, no community can survive unless new members are added to it... otherwise people slowly leave, and the playercount slowly goes down.
(sadly that's how N-Pulse has been for the past few years)

Your logic with motivation isn't right... you need to be motivated to MAKE a good playerworld, to attract a good community. How can a good playerworld be created without motivated development staff? (Though maybe that's the point?)

Fast Forward (Months/Years?)

Currently GO would be at a loss in this, because the content is not currently being enjoyed by a mass of players.

Haha, sit down. Go believe that you can manage a server without doing any development what so ever.

Huh? How do you figure? You're not even backing up your claims with fact. You're just saying stuff.
Refer back up to that sentence; "plz make me manager i can debate on the forums but im not very gud at development i know G2k1 is in need off but it doesn't matter because i can debate1. I'll just get my friends to help me. I don't need to do any work I'm not qualified enough!"

thats you thinking out loud.

Mithica's levels were utter **** in 2001 and it "attracted" and "kept" players because of it's community. The community itself was just a bunch of people rushing to see Mithica after it went non-p2p.

I'm saying that some people such as myself have no motivation to develope or maybe KEEP the motivation. Why? Because at first im drawn into the project but then find no reason to take a step.
