Well, I actually read a report on it (The actual PDF of the original document that was scanned.) and a lot of it has been traced back to some of the factories that are around the area. Some sound engineers took acoustic readings in the houses of people who complained about it, and found that it would sometimes be present in some parts of the house, and not in others, or in specific spots.

The noise is a low-frequency hum at less than 20 Hz. (Lower than the ordinary scope of human hearing, which is 20 Hz to 20,000 KHz, I believe.) The areas emitting the noise have been silenced, but it's still present.

I actually found a program some months ago used to generate hums at the frequency you specify, and could slightly hear noises above and below the ordinary range of hearing. However, after turning the sound way up and listening for a while, I started to feel sort of sick to my stomach as well, and got a headache. Same goes for when the pitch of the hum was above or at 20,000 KHz. If you want an idea of what a high-pitched hum like that sounds like, I believe ads are still being played for 'the messengers' or whatever that mentions them.

I remember reading about that somewhere. Can't imagine how a low hum would make you feel sick, though. Pretty interesting stuff. Why did that low hum NOT go away after the emmiters were silenced?

Damn I'm tired. Good night.

It's rather hard to pinpoint exactly where the noises might be coming from since it travels in waves. There are also some people in Germany who've experienced hums as well. If I can find the generator I used, I'll let you know.

Very, Interesting. And Draenin...I am curious who do YOU want to meet? How about a certain guy who almost made you change pants? :D (hint hint)

I did change pants. But it was with you, and now I have your keys and wallet.

PrinceDark 02-11-2007 08:40 AM

I remember a time when so many Floridians played on N-Pulse and Moon God was wanting to meet me and ETD. I think he wanted to kick ETD for some of their arguments.

Draenin 02-11-2007 08:48 AM

The last time I was in Florida, we left Kissimmee a day before Hurricaine Frances hit. Going to a beach with dark clouds on the horizon and going back to a hotel that was showered by a severe thunderstorm is pretty unnerving. :[

Other than that, though, Florida's a beautiful place. I've had relatives who live there, and it's sooo nice. I put it high up on my list, along with Seattle, Washington.

Huh, weird. 2000-2002 I lived in Bloomington, and at the same time Shadowfox was reportedly living in South Bend. Helluva convention...I wonder why so many Graalians pass through Indiana...?

I was born and raised in Anderson, Indiana. I hear it's pretty dead there now, not that it was too lively when I lived there, lol

I know it was a 3 hour drive on the school bus from Refugio to Houston. And you live in Texas, you should know that when you travel to any other town that's not really close you're going to be in the car a while lol. I remember as a kid riding to Corpus Christi with my parents, it seemed to take foreverrrr. Now, driving myself it doesn't seem all that long at all; about an hour drive is all.
