What unique game have you been playing, because I've yet to see ANYTHING that could be described as "like nothing else in the gaming world." That's a pretty broad world you're making blanket statements about there bub, and it encompasses a whole heck of a lot.

I play a game that lets me play as much as I can develope, that has different storylines, different ways of playing, and a multiplayer atmosphere. I call it graal ;)

I'm pretty sure everyone misses the old graal days, around 15 servers with 100+ on each server. I used to play mithica, great server, we used to get around 200 people playing at peak times. What first attracted me to graal was that i knew a friend who played and since it was free i got hooked pretty quickly. Nowadays if i knew a friend who played it and i found out you had to pay for it, i probably wouldn't even consider it. Too be honest i haven't had any fun on graal whatsoever since pre-p2p days and it's only friends who play that actually make me go back and play it every once in a while..

I'm not too good with marketing stratagies but why not have graal free again for the whole of 2007, think of how many new people and old people will start playing, getting chain reactions going and suddenly you have players friends friends friends playing so then you've got around 3000 people playing and then bring back p2p in 2008 or sometime later. Most of those
new people are going to upgrade and suddenly you'll end up regaining the profits you missed out on in 2007 but have increased profits from then on.
No idea if that will work but just my 2cents.

Wouldn't work, why would they pay for it in 2008 if they expect a nother free year. And drawing in old players won't work well, because they'll quit in 2008. You could offer p2p like access to noobies for a month, then give them a normal trial. It feels worse to have had and lost to have never had. ;) Give them a little p2p time, then take it away. ;) They'll be more likely to want to purchase it if they have seen the full capabilities of graal. Many of my friends played as a trial, hated it, so they quit, instead of actually buying the p2p, because they assumed that thats what graal was like. This has been the same case MANY times, we're having trouble getting new users.

I preferred the idea where it gets reset every week. Because instead of just giving them a really bad chance at the game, give them a good chance to get stuff. Then they'll see how much fun the game can be without being reset once every time they log on.
