Providing the updates are regular and not grossly huge, it would probably be nice for some 56k users to have the core files on a disk.

90MB? o.o overnight and it would be done, but hey cd's could be cool. I have two iRO cd's. xP If unixmad/stefan ever made graal online ones.. wow. ;)

Wow, thanks for the news update. I mean, Googi must have thought Stefan wasn't allowed to play for some daft reason, right?

Haha @ Loriel. :)

Loriel 07-04-2004 12:41 PM

He was attacking me while I was trying to post my screenshots, only to realise I set it to save screenshots as png, which made them almost 1mb, so I tried to install gimp, but the mostly supported Windows gimp installer needs for some stupid reason another Gtk distribution than I installed, so I had to install the freaky other one, which renamed the other Gtk dlls, then install gimp, uninstall the new Gtk package and rerename the DLLs.
:(

Thought 07-04-2004 12:53 PM

Try pngcrush?

You don't bother to quote people so non-hybrid/threaded users know who the hell you're talking to, so why should we care about your tree bs?

Python523 07-04-2004 03:12 PM

I think maybe Stefan and Unixmad should look into some kinda deal... like current VIPs may request a CD or pay a small amount for it and include a CD in future purchases of VIP

Some of us don't need a CD and can download very aptly 200 to 300 megs in about 30 mins or so.. I can at least.

They announced it to show screenies, and to let people know it will be out soon for VIP users?
I think the CD idea is a good one for people who have slow connections

To Loriel: I am guessing most of us do not use the tree structure...we never know who you are talking to, so dont complain...

I know that they never actually SAID it but they were trying to get us to think that from the start.

He said REQUEST..... Many people CAN'T download 90mByte, because of their connection..

Crono 07-04-2004 05:00 PM

They can keep their computers on for 12 hours then.

VeX_RaT_Boy 07-04-2004 05:05 PM

That's expensive..

Hairballmunky 07-04-2004 05:07 PM

*thanks god for ordering Gold/VIP* Unfortunately, I might need a CD...DAMN YOU LOW BANDWIDTH CABLE! DAAAAAAAMN YOUUUUU!

Crono 07-04-2004 05:07 PM

aw

i ..think i like my ISP in situations like this

:spam:

XJOKERX 07-04-2004 05:29 PM

Well 70mb took my computer 4 minutes so I think 90 would be 7 or 8-10 at max. I'm fine with it.

For all ISP's?

Dialup here in norway, you pay for how long you are connected to the internet.

LordZen 07-04-2004 06:08 PM

AOL charges by the hour I think, or charges extra if your online more than some amount. But AOL shouldnt count as an isp, lol. It sucks, I'm glad I havent used it for years and years.

I'm using comcast right now, I download about 380 kbps usually, and its a flat monthly rate.

Same in Sweden. A majority in the USA (almost all in Texas) don't do the hourly thing. You pay every month and can go on as long as you want. Only thing that sucks is that well, It's dialup. IT SUCKS PERIOD

VeX_RaT_Boy 07-04-2004 06:53 PM

I got monthly on my ADSL connection at home.. Dialup at dads house (ISDN).

dlang 07-04-2004 07:03 PM

Hmm, I should be able to download 90 megs, in 2-4 Minutes.

VeX_RaT_Boy 07-04-2004 07:05 PM

Same for me too..

Polo 07-04-2004 11:03 PM

ADSL paid monthly, no restrictions. Im sure 56k'ers could use getright or somthing :/

Crono 07-04-2004 11:23 PM

Maybe 56kers can download it at a friends house or at school then burn it? x_x

Milkdude99 07-04-2004 11:41 PM

I have cable and do not pay by the hour, I pay monthy for "unlimited access". I am connected to the net anytime my comp is on.

Spark910 07-04-2004 11:58 PM

Well it's only 90MB I assume as all the files are already in the zip... im sure they could knock off about half the filesize if it wasn't all included and you downloaded it off the servers... but it would be best to download it all in one go and none in game >_<
