Supply and demand. When the supply of tickets is so massive, the demand goes down. Thus people don't care as much when they win/lose b/c they already have hundreds of tickets (which they can't use due to either having all the prizes or not wanting to buy them b/c they suck.)

it's a currency, not a good. The supply available to players is fixed while your personal supply may be big.

When you have 300 tickets, does winning 2 more really make you happy? Not for most people. The more you have of something, the less it matters to you. The harder something is to obtain, the more you value it.
that's for the individual to decide, and it would be a favorable circumstance if people like you and laura stopped playing events as it would give noobs a chance for once. However, since it seems like GCs are only willing to host for certain people, this doesn't happen.

The point is, since people have so many tickets, they don't have the extra motivational drive to try harder to win events. Winning and losing matters more when something is on the line. When you don't care about what's on the line, you don't care as much about the event nor about winning. People wouldn't leave events as much if they cared about tickets. People would join events more often, even if they didn't like them, if they cared about tickets.
That's the case for a few people but not the overwhelming majority.

It's pretty simple duda. People aren't motivated to try harder because the prize is something they already have in vast excess.
for what, 4 people?

count me out, i still try harder to win, because that what i want.

Many people are bound to try harder when the prize given out is worth something to them, it's as simple as that.

maybe for you its worth nothing atm(idc) but for someone else maybe its worth something.

BlackSolider 05-22-2009 05:53 AM

So having 700 tickets and not using them is worth something to you?

DustyPorViva 05-22-2009 06:02 AM

Only thing to do though is cut back on tickets and/or events... but that hurts the newbies more than it does the veterans. Release more stuff? Temporary fix, because eventually it'll just happen again. It's not like the whole server revolves around it, therefor you've got a lot of income and very little to spend it on(because it's only spent on event prizes).

I really don't think there is a way to fix it though... it was meant only as an incentive to win events and that's still its purpose(and should remain as such), but there have been so many events held to give players something to do that they've lost their purpose.

many people being how many? 5? 6?

you don't seem to understand that high ticket counts affect very few players

yes, having the most tickets. You dont seem to SEE that only you is giving a **** about it, talking like you do will not solve the problem and wont make people with high tickets counts start to think about wasting them in such bulll**** lol

BlackSolider 05-22-2009 03:27 PM

Grats, you have the most tickets...by about 300.

So when we release some new GC prizes, are you going to be glad, mad, or will you not spend your tickets on them?

might be glad, will read the effect of each for sure

Ok so adding new prizes is ok.

But obviously a reset is not to you, correct?

correct

BlackSolider 05-22-2009 04:28 PM

Hypothetically say there was a ticket reset.

Would you motivated to try and have the most tickets again?

Or would you be so mad that you lost your tickets without compensation (assuming that is what happens,) that you wouldn't try super hard in events?

i would surely stop playing classic events forever

BlackSolider 05-22-2009 05:35 PM

Oh my.

Does that include with compensation? (Obviously there isn't a definitive "this is what we would give you in exchange for all your tickets" yet, so you can suggest your own ideas for compensation.)
