Don't look at it like that bro :-(.

Clash told me that the old nations and stuff are going to be brought back with the new Val so yeah.

Dan3099 10-16-2006 04:00 AM

Hey could we get a head template for new val so that we can start on personal ones for it?

The RPAs jeez "Hey lets give super powers to my friends but for everone elsa **** AND DIE PLZ!" Staff was and still is just a CONGRADS YOU HAVE 2K HRS PLZ!

Thanks for the support.

Not to undermine Clash here, but for the past two years us "useless staff" have pretty much been running Val.

Working on several servers isn't a bad thing.

lol but working and spending time on one server instead of jumpings back and forth all the time is a better thing.

Thing is if he would step up and do his job you wouldent be needed but as things are now you are needed.

If you see something you dislike, you will be hard to convince to like it. You learn all about first impressions in something I like to call 'school', ever heard of that?

I feel like i'm going in circles with you... Lets try this again. Anyone that bases what they think about a subject and refuses to try to change their opinion is usually very close minded. It isn't "hard" to change your opinion, it's that you "refuse" to change your mind. Thirty seconds is nowhere near enough time to accually base a very good opinion about anything.

Lets say you sign on some random game, in thirty seconds, oh say, five guys kill you non-stop without mercy. What are you going to do? Most likely you quit saying, "This game blows." Now it turns out that game is the best game in the world, you just had a bad run in with a few blowholes. Hey, you'll never know that because you formed your awsome opinion in thirty seconds.

School... Nope never heard of it... I can't read or write either.

Aside from this guy's remarks... Val really doesn't need awsome scripts. It's supposed to be Role Playing. All they should have to provide you with is a basic backpack system and maybe a few body expressions. Don't know, last I knew Role Playing was part of using your imagination.

First impressions matter.
I'm not very impressed.

Well according to Clash's plans for new val, you're correct. He's designed it so most staff positions wouldn't be necessary. He flooded the world and said new val would be there by Christmas 04. It wasn't, needless to say, so we worked with what we had.

And another thing, those of you that aren't impressed by the first look at it, keep in mind there is a lot more coming. I don't think anyone was impressed by the demo level he put up, the tileset and bodies are nice but honestly that's all we got to see from his demo level. He's told me quite a bit about how New Val will function so if you weren't impressed by it just keep in mind that there should be a lot more forthcoming.

I like the ideas he was talking about. I loved the way the body system is going to be. He was talking about players using their custom bodies to attempt to edit their height. This is a huge leap from the default way bodysets have been in the past. Everyone having the same bodyshape and height due to a 32x32 sprite restraint

Sulukra 10-17-2006 03:18 AM

I've talked with Clash about the subject more then once, actually - and I have to say, I like what he has planned. The plans he has for roleplaying seem to be pretty sound, so that leaves me satisfied to that extent.

Yeah, I did see a few minor flaws in his plan, but its nothing that can't be fixed, really.
