I haven't seen a bow in use in combat between players, but it does make killing T-Rexs extremely easy. I suppose duels would go the same way. |

No... Speaking time no more for you now. Learn to think. Then you can speak again. |
The rate of fire is high, but so is the average speed of a player these days.
I am not sure if its lag of the arrows as they fly and hit or if it is the dmg pause, but if you do get hit, such as when you are trying a comment, you will be dead no matter what before you move 1/4 inch. I think the equip configs/player attribs of the top 10, middle 10, and the average 10 players, should all be tested on debug, along with new spell and weapon configs and the battle system should be ironed out. A powerful wizard should not need a bow to own people in a fight. Its all words and talk and forum posts unless something happens, I think there should be a GK team of combat system testers/scripters who hear about these things and then log em and test em out, and come up with ideas/solutions. Then they can propose findings that support changes in the server. It would help to be sure that new changes don't unbalance the game more in unexpected ways. Besides, (GK Weapons Team) would be a cool staff tag. Side Note: It would be nice if people riding horses were not impervious to phys attacks too on maps and in combat. |
When you hit the horse so many times you should fall off. :)
Also, exploading arrors should be removed, what is the point? |

But there is a point, what are you talking about... lol :)
|
Well if you remove the arrow explotion, why have spells?
It's like the same thing -unrealistic lol |
I played around with bows a couple of days ago, and even if I hit someone in a duel with a bow once, and then just kept clicking to shoot at machine-gun speed, they still managed to escape after around 4-5 hits.

the firerate MUST be lowered, also the max all around power couse when can a bow be as stronge as a damn sword!? it's like someones using alotta inferno swords that are prepped and blessed and EVERYTHING to the max as ammo in a machine gun and exploding on impact couseing super lag and every time it hits you pause wich added to the lag makes you compleatly unable to move or retaliate, and doing all that from a distance, think about that, couse thats what it's like, wich gives good enugh reason to:
1: lower fireing rate 2: lower max power 3: remove explosion |

2) No, for the same reason as above. I can shoot many many times without ever being able to hit them since they move faster than arrows. You lower max power (Erm right, that's not possible to do without changing a large chunk of the system anyway.) and then bows will become exceedingly useless, since even when you hit them, you'll do crap damage. 3) Yes, I agree wholeheartedly with you on that. The explosions cause lag, which is very bad, for both the target and the shooter. And everyone around it as well. My suggestion is that arrow speed should be raised. The arrows fly very slowly as it is now. Perhaps the speed at which they fly can be related to your physique level, since the stronger you are, the further you can pull the bowstring back? If you implement this, then I'll accept lowering rate of fire, since this would make more sense, be more realistic, create less lag, and would be much more fair to both sides. |
I've had many experiences with prepped bows... Sure, it's lame, and it owns anything... but, really... A bow WILL own a Sword, Hammer, Bamboo Stick, dagger, in any situation IRL or elsewhere... just, consider this... All Graalians are super agile ambi-dexterious Elves! That's why we can run, shoot arrows, and manage to block swords all at the same time
No more explosion... lags up even me.. ;o don't nerf firing rate or damage (since really, the damage on the bow is not the damage it inflicts) the bow's distance is already nerfed... It is slower when shooting across the screen, and faster when shooting close, so no need to argue about that. Make reflect (missles refers to magic) arrows ammy 25% stop. Make most shields 10% arrow stop. No bonus on helms, boots, etc. Heavy Body armor 40%, Mithril 25%, and the rest 10%. Should shut you all up.. alltogather, possible 75% arrow stop... Good enough for the 'machine gun index finger' players to hit you, but high enough stop so that you aren't stuck in a barrage of arrows... Also, I was thinking... why not add in some damage stop... take away Phys Resist (since it isn't accurate) and add Damage stop... that, of course, refers to the natural or prepped damage of a weapon, vs. the amount of damage stop you have, + armour. Explanation; Damage stop is imediate damage stop, say you have 25% damage stop from a shield, somebody with 80 damage hits you, reduce by 25 (20 if you didn't know) and apply armour to the rest of the damage... (armour only reduces a percent of the damage on a rare basis.. ask Justin, he knows more then I). It'd be smart, but... won't happen. |
I think with armour beind some kind of sword resistance, there should be a 'missile resistance' provided by any piece of armour - depending on how good it is at that. Take out one of the rather useless resistances (when have you last been turned undead? ) for it. But I guess it would require a lot of editing and revising, and would complicate things quite a bit... at least remove the explosions.
It would also be nice to have accuracy and maybe even damage depend on how long you 'charge'. Rapid-fire will then result in the arrows being spread a little farther and their damage go down by, say, 1-2. Holding the button for a second will make sure they hit home and adds 2-3 to the base damage. |
Turn undead is against Bile blessers, since they count as an undead force, and thus, are affected by turn undead.
