Alternative to reset:

All items set to self-destruct. Each item refunds (gives the player back however many gralats it's worth) and destroys itself. The players' gralats are then scaled down: Say, take the root, so that a player with 100 gralats total value only has 10, and a player with 400 gralats total value only gets 20. Then either put the confiscated items up for sale, or automatically re-purchase the uncommon ones.

Modifying accounts is okay, but come on, a reset? For paying customers, on what's basically an RPG? That's like leaving the Gauntlet machine in the arcade until everyone gets to level 99, then swapping it out for a new one on which the accounts do not exist. Not polite, even if it is legit.

Resetting expired accounts on the other hand...

Maybe a year a month isnt very long person could be poor for a while. I know if my account expired this month I would be screwed for at least a month. :(

Yes, Allow everyone a couple of days before to have 1 item that they can keep, except gralats. If they want a hat, they can keep it, if they want a bomy, they can keep it, if they want a house, they can keep it.

But you must CURRENTLY own the item.

That would be extremely hard to do, seeing as how they would have to ask every person that has an account what thing they would like to keep. I like Tyhms idea though..

But hell, if players get items/gralat that other players don't get, it completely voids the point of the reset. Either reset EVERYTHING or reset NOTHING. I don't want to start off richer than other people, but I don't want other people starting off richer than me. Does it make sense? Reset so everyone is equal. Then you don't have to make a big ordeal about finding bomies on accounts to remove, etc.

Then for crying out loud, don't **** up the economy again by stocking 10000 hats at dirt cheap prices. You either allow everyone to buy everything, or you make things actually have value. You CAN make the economy work if you actually think about the outcome of your actions.

"Should I auction bomies off? Would this be unfair to poor players? Should I give bomies out as event prizes? Would this be unfair to the rich players?" etc.

well atleast there are a few smart people here

screen_name 07-16-2002 02:51 AM

why not just go throu all old accounts and auction off those bomies

that would take a lot of money out of the economy and maybe just limit a bomy or two to only one person

i know i would buy swisslord 1 if it went up for auction :)

Googi 07-16-2002 02:52 AM

I think that ANYBODY should be allowed to keep their bomy over the reset, but there should be a HARSH penalty for doing so (starting with -5000g perhaps?)

WHIPENIE4 07-16-2002 03:40 AM

I like that Idea Googi, I wouldn't complain then :)
Or - how ever much they bought there bomy for.

Torankusu 07-16-2002 04:11 AM

I say just reset it all.

Two people having bomys is senseless. Let them win them back in events or something.

Neither is it a communist government. We should not give people special treatment because of anything. It is unfair to the players.

Also, the problem with Tyhm's idea is that the price on stuff is fluctuating alot. Some people pay more, some less. Depends who you get it from =\. Like if someone won a bomy in an event. How would you define how much the player recieved?

I didn't sell my flame beanie and contribute my 50g (worth that at the time) to making the economy worse. You shouldn't get a reward for something like that. It will be strange without my hats. It will be strange for everybody to have nothing. You shouldn't be allowed to keep it because you feel stranger than all the rest. Everyone should be treated equal. If you start out the game with an unfair advantage.. well.. then.. you have an unfair advantage! Thats unfair! =P

Googi 07-16-2002 05:07 AM

Of course, the first choice would be to just reset it all all all, but that won't happen so you'd have to go with my idea.

Huha and me!

ive had my bomy Huha The Magnificent ever since i got him at the first bomy auction ever held. stefan auctioned 10 bomys,Huha was the 5th sold.i fished near 300 hours to get the money he cost me ( back then you got 1 gralat for 50 lbs. of fish) if some kid with an ego and a self serving personality wants to take it away so be it. as for me all i can do is not reup my acct. and discourage others from signing up to play this game run by children.

Or re-buy it.

so? it took me 12k to buy pirat0 and I had nothing at the time 0 money. You think it was easy? The reset should be to "reset". If you like it so much work again and rebuy it is how it should be.
