Uh, he can ban for whatever reason he darn well pleases according to all the license agreement stuff, but let's not get into that. The whole point of bringing this back was to show that Ice Pick should not be getting by as easy as he is now if he's been banned before.

Unixmad also banned alot of other people, so don't pinpoint it all on Mafukie being the only one banned.

It never was their program, not made by them at least. Mafukie compiled his own 1.39 GServer from the source code.

The license agreement specifically states that Cyberjoeuer retains the right to their program. The thing you keep referring to is nothing more than their extended definition of the collective term "program." You must become more familiar with how contracts work. :\

...Everyone is forgetting two crucial words in that license agreement. local network. Mafukie had people from a very very far range of places playing on his server. Not a local network. That made it instantaneously illegal.

I understand the whole thing with the 1.3.* gserver not being illegal to use and whatnot. But, the fact remains that Unixmad can ban anyone he wants for whatever reason he wants. Of course anyone getting banned will have problems with it though and make Unixmad look bad.

On the Stefan having no 'real' job thing...you must not realize that this game IS Stefan's job, and he does get paid for it.

That isn't really business-like, because Mafukie had no actual reason to be banned (other than the newly "CC Problem" thing.) and he was called a 'criminal' repeatedly, and threatened to be sued over the use of the legal use of gserver 1.3.*
