Cellphones would only work if there was a way to disable the player list. No one would want that to happen because there wouldn't be any other way to spam the items you're selling over masses.

I think that helicopters should be released after everything is done, but only like 4 placed randomly on the map. Make it cost like 300k and whoever wants to buy one is stuck with it forever and all they can do is rent it out to people.

cell phones and the player list are 2 different things. in no way can one replace the other.

The playerlist can easily 'replace' cell phones.

Just let people rent heli's for certain amounts of time and let them add on to the time if there still using it?

although heli's are great fun, I don't like them that much. I don't really want to see the whole server flying around in helicopters, just my opinion.

Have like a select few around the map that only have one at each spot to be rented so only a few can do it

Release 2 helicopters to the general public at 200k a piece.
and allow people to sell them like cars. Then you only have 2 helicopters in the server at once. Problem solved. Would need to think of how heli pads would work for the public though.

Cell phones and pay phones are pretty pointless, but they should be released anyways as a novelty item. No matter how pointless they are people will still buy them, guaranteed. More **** for people to spend their money on the better for the economy.

I never really saw the point for helicopters. You fly a group of people to a base that you could of easily gotten to if you walked within 10 seconds. Era really isn't that big if you guys have noticed.

yeah you'd think so but they're actually pretty fun if you get a gang of people in them. You can pull up on people and all jump out and slaughter them.
Plus if its a rare 200k vehicle, the rich elite would use them as a Status symbol.

I was thinking after the reset and everything is completed, that your not just buying the helicopter your buying the helipad also and only you can park there and make sure you have some one that you can trust to park it back or else you get a pretty big ticket... Also for those who think there no point to helicopter, WRONG lol... There very fun it made me very mad when they just go released for gangs only just have 2-3 helicopters with pads and sell em for like 300k... me personally if this does happen I will be buying one and probably never sell it :D

People do have lots of money right now... I'm talking about releasing helicopters after all the Dev stuff is completed and the reset has occurred.

-The helicopters would probably be 200k-300k.
-There should only be about 2-4 Helicopters with helipads released and I'm thinking anyone that wants one you can race each other for them, Lol.
-They must be parked on their assigned helipads so you don't get a ticket.
-They can be sold just like any other car.
-You can give rights to you helicopter to friends, just make sure its some one you can trust to put the Helicopter back to their assigned helipad.
-Gas would probably cost alot more for helicopters, as I'm pretty sure helicopters use different fuel than a car.
-Rent able helipads so you have more places to park your helicopter.

Oh I'm wondering, would the houseboats be alot of money, considering that its basically a portable house on the water? There should also be Rvs, a portable house for land what do you think of that?

All the GFX are already done. Era currently has helicopters.

Yeah RV's and House Boats have wavylines and all that on them and boats are no easy thing to make

I disagree with limiting things like helicopters or weapons to only a couple of pieces. It will just lead to problems.

You actually start with probaly a Shovel, Or even nothing. It would take around a month non-stop digging to get 10-20K? So if u want to get a Helicopter, It would take u around 10 Months if u keep working?

Who in the right mind would work 10 months stright for some pixels?

It takes around half an hour to get 1.1k with bouquets.

Man, I seriously don't get what you guys see in the helicopters. Era is small as hell. It's like adding a commercial airline to Unholy Nation. I liked the idea that Warhead made way back about Gang Vans. I could actually see that happening waaay before seeing random people flying above my head with flipping helicopters.

Are you kidding me? There are people who have spent hours at a time at the e-gym on Era to get the horrific speed level they have today. What makes you think they wouldn't spend some of that time working for something like that?

Well I do agree that a gang van would be better, but i just want helicopters because me and my friend saved up and worked forever to get one and then gangs get them for points. But Frankie also said he was making the map much bigger i think and by that I think he ment he was shrinking the main lands and adding much more water for boats. Anyway this is a modern server and in the modern world today we have helicopters and I really don't see the harm in releasing a couple of em on Era. Just think of it as a good way to take money from the economy.

Oh and Frankie did you say you would post any progress on how the dev sever is going? As in screen shots and whats finished stuff like that.

I think helicopters would not do good.
Cus after a reset, if they are added at 300k it will be a huge race for them.
And if you saved up lots of money.. thats your problem. Staff are not forced to add helis.
And after reset no one has NOTHING.

I can safely say I have no intention in bringing back Helicopters.

They're impractical, due to the size of Era's map, and there's many other things we could use in their place.

Also, the idea of limiting them to 2-3 people really doesn't solve anything, all it will do is spark a lot more crying from the people that don't get them.

When figuring out the dimensions for the new gmap I realized something.

From the image I posted a few pages back, that map is 11x9 levels. That's about how big I want to make the new gmap.
If you press M on Era and focus your map top left (press M and hold the up/left keys) That is what 11x9 levels looks like.

What I realized is that if you take all that empty space you see on the map right now, it could probably add up to the amount of room the houses on southridge take. If we made the middle of the map more city-ish then made the north/east parts of the map more of a neighborhood house type deal, we could fit a lot of houses on Era. On top of that, you have apartment buildings with like 10 rooms or so. I think there is enough room so that at least 70% of the server could own a house for storage. Good? Bad? Just an idea.
