Gratz it's your 100th post. Bl0nkt what do you mean by colour effect R B G A?

Bl0nkt 08-27-2005 09:35 PM

It's a code used to create light effects in ganis. You have to open it in a .txt form and enter the sprite index you want to add light effects to.

Those black circles on the sabre that you see are light effects before they are light effects. The white part of the circle is the brightest part and the dark spots are the less light parts. It runs on a channel known as Alpha (the A in R G B A).

The code is COLOREFFECT INDEX COLOR COLOR COLOR ALPHA. The problem is that I don't know the order of the colors. When I was making these ganis, I made it

COLOREFFECT INDEX RED GREEN BLUE ALPHA

, but apparently that's wrong.

i,R,G,B,A is correct.... It's always RGB. And Alpha is at the end, and the index comes before all of that.

Cool maybe now he can finish the saber :)

Thank you for the reminder.

I'll start the ganis again once I get word on that plasma shield.

anubis_wing 08-27-2005 10:54 PM

Well at least some people like my idea's. We also need to work on the gani for the sword.

Elite_Snare 08-28-2005 01:39 PM

Screw The Stupid White Sabre Ill Get It At Legend I Want The Old ****ting Ganis I Want A Red Sabre

Bl0nkt 08-28-2005 06:46 PM

It's a better idea if you delete all the new plasma sabre ganis from your ganis folder and put them back in when I'm done.

anubis_wing 08-28-2005 08:23 PM

Which will be?

I'll start on them tomorrow.

However, making different attacks for each one will too big of a hassle.

anubis_wing 08-29-2005 12:06 AM

Just finish how they look then work on attacks some other day or week

someonesomewhere 08-29-2005 05:48 AM

Maybe this will help some people:
You can't change the angle for a weapon. Like Bl0nkt said, that's changing the graphice, UNLESS the gun image contains a diagonal sprite. However, they do not, so don't ask for that.

That would mean editing and re-diting the same gani so many times it's not funny. I don't pretend to know what I'm talking about, this is just from reading Bl0nkt's gani tutorial. From what I can tell:
Edit gani to make saber attack 1
Edit gani to make saber attack 2
Edit gani to make saber appear pink and stay pink.
Edit gani to make saber attack 3
Edit gani to make saber attack 4
Edit gani to make saber sappear red and stay red.
Etc, etc, etc.
And If I'm not mistaken, the saber gfx doesn't contain enough sprites to make more than 2-3 distinctive attacks.

Bl0nkt 08-29-2005 07:49 PM

That's pretty much right. Thank you for reading my tutorial by the way. ;)

Well, here's exactly the pattern which I have to do this:

1) I open a gani. First thing's first is I have to change the attributes for the body because I don't have the body Stefan uses to create the ganis. The annoying part is the attribute is greater than 3 so I have to open it in a .txt just to change it (thanks a lot, Stefan).

2) I change it back to a .gani format and edit the gani (a good one takes at least 15 minutes). Once I'm satisfied with that, I have to open it back up in a .txt and find out the correct color effect for the lights.

COLOREFFECT I 1 0 0 .2 = A normal looking red
COLOREFFECT I 0 1 0 .2 = A normal looking green
COLOREFFECT I 0 0 1 .2 = A normal looking blue
COLOREFFECT I 1 0 1 .2 = I believe is purple
COLOREFFECT I 0 0 0 .9 = I believe is black

Repeat the same thing for 5 colors.

3) Now I have to do step 1 and 2 over again for a walk, an idle, an equip and 10 attacks. If that shield is ever added, it would mean I have to open EACH ONE OF THOSE GANIS to add it. That's a PAIN.

If he's using the same body sprites consistantly, just copy another set of sprites and rename them to whatever he's using as the default in his ganis.

Are ya almost done Blonkt?

Bl0nkt 09-06-2005 08:54 PM

I'll finish them once I get this answer:

COLOREFFECT I - - - - <--- If someone gives me the correct order for Red, Blue, Green, Purple and Black I'm back on the road.

anubis_wing 09-07-2005 01:59 AM

Didn't haunter cover this????

Bl0nkt 09-07-2005 03:13 AM

Not yet.

DrDrizzle 10-24-2005 01:54 AM

I know this thread is old, but did you ever finish the plasmasabre gani's Blonkt? The other ones are cool :)

SayianOozaru 10-24-2005 03:23 AM

the order is Green, Blue, Purple, Red, then Black ^^ NOW GET BACK TO WORK >:O ;)

DrDrizzle 10-24-2005 05:17 AM

I think Blonkt needed some codes for the colors. x_x

SayianOozaru 10-24-2005 06:23 AM

o XD!

Zulu15 12-16-2005 06:27 AM

I know this is a very old topic but I was just wondering if Bl0nkt was ever going to finish his work on the stuff..
