aeh what would be easier with that?
Actually putobject doesn't allow message
codes for the object name, that could be
changed, but if it would support it then
you just could do
if (playerchats) putobject #c,playerx,playery;

Admins 06-13-2001 10:42 AM

Please accept that you need to use
some different syntax in Graal than in
VB

Admins 06-13-2001 10:44 AM

Voodoo3: It's not a bug, its just not supported.
You only get that strange behaviour (slowiness)
when you have a wrong driver for your card. With the
official 3dfx drivers it correctly doesn't try to
do Direct3D.

Err I was using it to uh examplize how VB uses some nice vars and Graal should have them, I would normally use Graal Coding but since it does not have it I ussually can't do some things. if you wanted to set #c as what the playersays flag always is, which I don't think you can, it'd be cool. Also, You cannot alter other players without having them have the same npc or an npc that can respond to that, therefore most servers use the "System" npc, just a big npc full of commands. I wouldlike some commands that alter the other person other than just hurting them without them having to have that NPC, because sometimes, it's just too much trouble or I get too lazy. Also, how do you make a gani using pictures you made by yourself on Graal Shop? and Why do they call it 'Graal Shop'? I ask to many questions LoL.

DuckyJ 06-13-2001 10:52 AM

Oh yeah what type of programming language do you use for coding Graal? And will you ever release the source? Cuz' I'd love to improve it if it was in VB.

ducky shorten your freaking signature and maybe make it less stupid please

Ok if you have been in Dustari castle and you come in... and you look down, you see what is ment to be the outside of where you enter(not actully) so i thought with layers of levels, you could make this possible.

So you could have the actul inside of Dustari and add the level outside where people come in where the current little made entrace should be. So you can actully see people outside from that level(not sure if you're following me) But the people that are coming in from the level that enters can't see you.

Ok if you don't get that well i'm not very good at explaining.

It would be really spiffy if there was a way to define an area to be a zoomed-out version of another level, and you can see the people in the level but they can't see you....so like, you're at the top of the castle on the edge of the roof, and you look down and see a bunch of little graalians fighting and trying to get the bridge down...but they can't see you, ya see.
Also good for Sparring rooms...you can see the spar but the sparrers can't see you. ^^;

vergil 06-13-2001 11:37 AM

how about tree tops? ^_^ i always wanted to make a treetop village elves etc.

Lag's probably the big issue.

Krakken_2001 06-13-2001 10:45 PM

I still think we need a ROTATE IMAGE command =/
Please make one Stefan =*(

G_yoshi 06-13-2001 10:49 PM

we need force feedback support :D

Admins 06-13-2001 11:13 PM

ducky such commands exist, also string variables etc.

G_yoshi 06-13-2001 11:30 PM

what commands are you talking about?

la-la-la 06-13-2001 11:46 PM

lol

he was being sarcastic........usually when someone around here starts typing funny and misspells stuff....and its obvious they did it on purpose...they are being sarcastic

grim_squeaker_x 06-13-2001 11:55 PM

Hmm.

NPC Code:
showmsg index,message,x,y; //Show's a message as if there was an NPC with the message command on x,y;
changemsgsize index,size; //Changes font size
changemsgfont index,font; //Changes message font

Just a few ideas, it's already scriptable by combining #K with a for loop and some other things but this would be easier.

G_yoshi 06-14-2001 12:02 AM

if graal had a force feedback command it could be like this maybe

setrumble force

i think it would be very cool to have force feedback support...cause you could have weapons such as magic npcs that does certain effects and you can feel them when they hit or charge up

Admins 06-14-2001 12:18 AM

I thought of just using showimg for also displaying
text (and may be ganis) so you would already
have commands for changing the color,
size (zoom) and drawing height / layer

Krakken_2001 06-15-2001 07:08 AM

Yea.. that makes sure newbie scripters CAN'T do cool effects >=)

LilbrojX 06-15-2001 07:31 AM

2 things:

1 - so if I get the offical voodoo3d drivers, the ones I thought I had, then I shouldn't have any problems with the slowness?

2 - if you cover up the ponytail on stefans signature, it looks funny... it also looks like Obi Wan Kanobi... I'M VERY BORED

kyle0654 06-15-2001 07:58 AM

Uh.....I asked a LOOOONNNNG time ago for seeing another level from the current one, like, on the old boards. I called it showlevel levelname, xinlevel, yinlevel, width, height or something...Stefan said then it wasn't quite that reasonable of an idea.....it'd be laggy...maybe if the levels could be combined on the fly somehow.....but then you'd have problems with npcs and objects in the other level...

General 06-15-2001 09:03 AM

Wait are you ppl talking about the invalid floating thingie

LilbrojX 06-15-2001 09:05 AM

wutever supersonic

General 06-15-2001 09:08 AM

no, i mean about downloading the voodoo drivers, will that fix "invalid floating point operaiton"
