That's how it is. This isn't a cash prize giveaway, a true Olympian is happy with his gold medal without a big novelty check to go with it.
If an official server gets the money-towards-hosting, they're covered in the event they go Bomy-Moon style and lose favor. The fact that you want $40 doesn't enter into it.

Tyhm Npulse would like to take part but the lack of scripters kinda puts a damper on Gani sets , maybe we can get the aid of the GTS to help us with that. Still not sure what it is we are supposed to make as far as an Event or is it Events? Are these the Events we need to make?

I just need the server admin to contact me to sign up, then one of you to tell me what ganis you guys use. If it's Classic, I already have Classic gani support set up. If it's G2K2 style, I already have that set up too. If it's G2K1 style, I need the ganis and graphics to go with those.

You hold 5 events on 5 days. You don't need to make anything for it, you can conduct it however you like. Trivia, a race and 3 different spars if you like.

I'd like if you guys send me an onlinestartlocal style level for your world. The way it's set up, you choose which PW you're coming from and are set up accordingly, with ganis and such. If I don't get one, I'm just gonna have to have people "warp in" without any particular explanation.

Yeah, but if I throw in a free year of VIP for each of the 5 winners and access to an exclusive global guild, will any more people participate or will it be exactly the same? Further, do I want Olympians who are just in it for the prize or who are just in it for the glory?

Great idea Thym, I hope this turns out well. Anyway, my main server, Babylon, has a little problem with staff setup, and the co-manager and manager of the server are very rarely on to organize this team. Can any high staff put together a team?

I mostly interested in the sparring portion of this Olympic thing. The playerwords today have such a vast erray of styles and some very good sparrers. I want to participate in the spar tourny just to see how I measure up against the rest. Its hard enough to come out on top of one of UN's spar tournys let alone the entire graal community o_O

Yeah, but get the manager's permission first. I don't actually care who takes charge, but if two admins both claim to have the final list of contestants, all hell breaks loose - there's one manager, that one manager is needed to ensure there's one list. So have your manager email me saying "Yeah, Thallen [email here] is gonna be taking care of the events," if possible. Otherwise, just do it and hope nobody contests it.

Cool. Then kick your server manager into emailing me, UN hasn't signed up yet.

Nah, we tried to run it a month ago but it was too short notice for the playerworlds, so we postponed it. Which would explain why the prior one was so crappy.

UN is participating.
Classic screwed up and already held their qualifiers, thinking the FINALS were this week.
G2K0 has been disqualified because they chased off their organizer, and because all-clientside server support's being dropped anyway.

Regardless - The first event is Endurance, beginning at noon PDT, 3PM EDT, 8PM GMT I guess and 9 CET probably. I'm not good with conversions, there's a huge timer in the Graalympus Lobby. All events will be held at the same time on different days - Trivia tomorrow, Race Wednesday, Sumo Thursday, and Spar Friday.

Despite epic lag (mostly from bad scripting on my part that I didn't catch until a half hour after it all started), Jake13jake won the first event (Endurance) for the Classic team. His three competetors were disqualified by leaving the arena and/or computer failure. If Unixmad grants it, there may be a rematch at some point, depending on whether or not he wants to shell out for another prize.

Next event: Trivia at noon PST tomorrow. The timer in the lobby remains accurate.

*shrugs* I warped him in twice, and at the end of the event he wasn't there. Call it what you like.

He was getting warped around, even I got warped inside the event area 3 times, and warped back out

Anyway, congratulations to the classic participant

If you use the binoculars and you aren't in the vicinity of the arena, it warps you inside. If you are in the chairs around the arena then you can see the inside of the arena where all the action is happening. The lag was terrible, I went through a warp and got warped 5 times and got stuck on the wall then I had to say 'resetme' since nobody would warp me x.x

I was getting warped to the arena from the lobby (I mean in the part where the event was going to be held, not the stands),but I wasnt using the binoculars, then warped back, and yea, the warping when I went through doors was doing that to me too, I would take about 10 steps, then get warped back to the door...the participant for Npulse got warped into the arena, then got warped out, then warped back in again, then he never saw the event I guess because he was disqualified for something he didnt do, he said he got x's above his head, then he got warped out, and tyhm said the event was over

that's usual =x in a laggy situation, if you walk into a room... you can walk in, but when all the NPC's, and other players load, you get sent back to the door... at least that part is normal...
but i dunno what could cause all that other warping... unless some RC person was having fun

Haha, I got a sneak preview of that when it was in testing. How long did it go on? I think I'd probably snap after any longer than ten minutes.

Did anyone get any screenshots of any of the events?? Cause I wanted to see the tug of war and stuff

About 2 hours, but I got disconnected for not moving about 3 times I think, and one of the other contestants that I was up against lagged out or something, so we had to start over a few times, and I think I got about a 2 or 3 minute break in between the 2 I had to beat, lol
It was alot of fun I think, and I had to really concentrate...the worse part is just sitting there looking at the screen for so long, and keeping your arm in one spot, only moving your fingers
