all these new tilesets and servers and gfx, are not graal. I guess i am jsut old fashioned but i like the litlle funny bodies and heads and funny buildings. THAT IS GRAAL.

That is why they are trying to bring the old classic back too, new tilesets and stuff happens to all games eventually, well most, but its sort of cool, i like whats happening to graal, its pretty good for not requiring dsl or cable... new graal stuff is just people expressing themselves, making themselves original.

I agree totally! i hate the new 2k1 bodies, they're ubber ***. The old small bodies and the old heads are what graal really is. New graphics are ok, but dont make new bodies, new heads, new shields, new swords, new horses, just so your server is different....whatever happened to coming up with original npc's and events?

Just because we have different Bodies, etc doesn't mean there isn't original NPCs and Events? We have alot of origina stuff

i kno i wasent saying you didnt, it just seems like every new pw wants to make an entirely new graal, i think thats the fun of graal itself that you can work for whatever server you want, use the same tool to change that server to the way you and other players want...i think every pw having a different tileset defeats the purpose

Dont u get it? The PW testers are looking for something different than the original classic server gfx and NPCs. Thats y all these other servers are trying to be different. And 1 more thing...yes the old funny gfx were graal, but these gfx are renegade. ^_^

Isn't that a contradiction? The way I want my server is with new graphics and a nice tileset, then you say that defeats the purpose of being creative? I think most people are sick of the old Graal graphics. There are only a select few that feel the old graphics should never be replaced. I'm all for saving the classic look, but it doesn't need to be that way on every playerworld. Plus it gets incredibly disgusting when people try to use the tiles in the old tileset in new ways that don't look right.

Yea, I am sick of the old tileset, every server uses it. Its old and boring now. The servers are no different then each other.

Thats where good level making comes into effect. If you have a halfway decent LAT they can easily use that tileset to come up with new ideas, or improvemenst on old ideas that make it still look new and exciting and great. I think new graphics are a must as can be seen as some of the most successful servers, like val, are updated almost exclusively in terms of new gfx allll the time, but making a new tileset is too much, and also when people make new tilesets they usually are very mediocre and just dont have the same kind of quality as the classic graal set.

ya well it is pretty good, better then the new ones people come out with (mind you i mean most of, some are good) and those are the basic classic ones that we all know and have used for years, so they should be the standard, if someone can do better thats cool, but dont just make a tileset for the sake of having a tileset
