I don't know how they could be overly obsessed with it. I mean, it's the main server now. It's the thing that's hopefully gonna get them lots of upgrades to keep Graal running smoothly and so on. It's not like they owe NW anything, after all.

I just want the database back and for the game server to stay running (and get updates on the exes (game, rc/nc, etc.)) Past then we've got it covered. We've got a new dserver host, a new website host, and we'd pretty much be doing it like the old days. I just need the database.

Funny how Unixmad didnt say anything about NW.. it would be nice to get some information, to me it seems like they are trying to make it vanish, afterall it's not even on the graalonline.com page anymore, soon the forum on here will be taken off, just watch. I would really like to play NW, and I don't think it should be shut down like this, people shouldnt work and put a lot of effort into something and just get ignored, after all it's the summer, a lot of time can be spent on working on NW ;]

So Unixmad and Stefan into thier new offices yet.

Though I don't play Graal or anything, I wish Unixmad and Stefan would start recognizing Kraken and Kyle's potential along with the other NW staff in making NewWorld itself. They've put long, hard hours into NewWorld, and now nothing's going as planned... :( I still think NW was basically never going to be put up, and NW staff were tricked to make an advertisment for Graal so people would subscribe. I know I may be wrong...

Once a day I think it was. I was reading old threads, and remembering when people with talent talked and shared openly and enjoyed eachothers company.


And I saw a rabbit Ace made for NW once. It ... was.. the best rabbit you had ever seen in your life. It even hid in grass when you came by. I mean. come on.

yea that rabbit roxed. but it was the only cool thing about nw realy and new_guts cool art work of course.

It was the first to start the new style of inside houses too, which is a mix between the Era and GK style I guess. Also had some nice warp rings, and I think the first to use setfocus (on some dark castle thing) :cool:

The bombs I saw for NW were awesome. Huge explosion the screen shook I think. It is a vague memory.

I remember most of that stuff, especially when a lot of the global staff helped me on a New World Revival, that didn't end up lasting but it was fun.

Didnt last many days if I remember right, some of the NPCs spark uploaded were amazing though.

NW would have been -it- if administration of graal were even quarterway decent, and worried about anything that could drive buisness in a POSITIVE direction.

Oh well, it will still live as a distant memory, of what could have been.

They got Abandoned and most of the extremely talented developers moved on. It was for the best.

The content was attempted to be reused in a very poorly orchestrated NW Revival Project.

Now Stefan has given WC the Content Rights to use some of it for some strange reason.

Yes, I have been making an attempt to reuse as much of the New World content as possible. Stefan and I both find it a shame that the content was just abandoned, so I am trying to put it to good use.

The bombs will be on Mana Realms.. they were one of my favorite too :)

I thought NewWorld was fused into 2K2 but I guess not.

Stefan used some graphics from new world in both 2001 and 2002

IE: The alchemical items were used in 2002 (sucks, because they were neat) and the trader icon was used in 2001

I dont see how you can sit there and say that really. If Stefan really felt it was a shame the content was left, dont you think he would have made a more major move to save the NW Team and their DServer and everything?

This was like any other graal development, except most of the participants were highly skilled, and in college, with more time restrictions.

Its hard to read you say that and believe that you truely care about what happens to the content, instead, that you just got rights to use some amazinly completed content.

What Stefan did with New World and its team members were his own buisness. I was (and still am) in close contact with many former NW staff (aside from Brudges) and I have not heard a word of complaint about what I am doing.

Stefan made a mistake with NW from where I stand. It was beautiful and would have been a beautiful leap from Graal2001 to Graal2002. It was bad timing though.. and things were handled poorly on both parts and it stinks what happened.. but I am at least trying to make the best out of what is left of it.
