The reason I added a post count to it was because of one reason.

If you were here from the beginning, but contributed VERY LITTLE, then your presence is not of much merit, is it?

I think that in 6 months, if you were an active member of the forums, you would have more than enough time to get 500 posts.

Well, the real oldbies are the ones who were there at that time and have been around since, and have knowledge of how things used to be, and how they have transformed into what they are today. It's more like a car mechanic from the 1900's who's been working on cars from then until today. They'd know a lot more about how things have changed, what has worked and what hasn't, and how the community around them has changed. They could use the knowledge and wisdom they have learned to fix problems that may arise which are similar to past problems, and would be better at solving new problems because they know what won't work.

Yes, oldbies should not be determined by how long they have been around, but how much they have contributed to the Graalian community

Your arguments are good, but they suggest that oldbieness is directly related to intelligence. A stupid person wouldn't pick up on the reasons things happened as they did; they would just acknowledge that they had and think this was enough. I'm a newbie compared to some people, but I'm more skilled in game design and that kind of stuff. It isn't a perfect relationship - there are old players that act like newbies and new players that act like oldbies.

Hmm... Could "contributed to" be replaced with "insulted"? If so, I'm a super-duper oldbie.

Actually more like... the average of both how long you have been around, and how much you have contributed within that time.

Yes. Click on "Members" up at the top. Top 15 Posters, and you can continually go down. I think Marle and I are in the lower 20's...Not sure though. Fai is number one, though. Heh.

If someone is not on the list it does not automatically make them a newbie. Besides, it is just a guide. If you don't like the list you can just ignore it or dismiss it.

But of course, people who are not on the list are bound to complain. And since that most people are not on the list, I expect a lot of complaints.
