I'm really looking forward to this, please don't make it gold :'(

ZeroTrack 09-30-2006 07:47 PM

I started UN when it was actually fun and not lame, all UN is now is a hang out its not fun really

konidias 09-30-2006 07:48 PM

lol when did this turn into a "when did you start playing graal" thread? >_<

I don't think the server will be gold... I'd prefer that it stays classic. But it's really up to Stefan to decide. If he wants to make it gold then he can... though he doesn't show much interest in the server anyway.

Yeah I know... I'm trying to avoid having to go gold if possible. I don't mind the "2k1 newbies" flooding the server. I'm planning out the gameplay in such a way, that it encourages not being a "dbzpikanarutochu2006" noob. :D

The punishment system will also be different. There will be a new rock breaking jail and pretty much all rulebreakers will stop breaking rules and start breaking rocks. There will no longer be timejail or any nonsense like that. Also I'm going to avoid banning as much as possible. Only hackers will be banned immediately (and that's if they actually can hack anything...). There will be a profanity filter in place so that won't be much of a problem either.

I know that you are doing new bodies and such, but can you make the sword swing gani as close to "normal" as possible? Us PKers don't like to have to get used to new ways of pking ;(

Well the bodies aren't technically new. They are just updated versions of the classic bodies. The sword gani is identical to the default sword gani. :) In fact, all of the ganis are identical to the old classic ganis.

I've hired another gfx person to help out, Sage has now buckled in for the ride. He made a very nice trumpet to replace the old one... which was simply horrid. The staff team seems to expand every week. I just hope we can keep up this rate of progress.

Is this going to be optional or compeltely enforced?

As of right now there is no option to turn it off... it works by censoring what YOU say, not other players. Therefore I don't really see a way to have the option to censor out what everyone else says.

If there was the option to turn it off, you'd see some people using profanity and other people not. Which wouldn't really make much sense.

It only stars out the offensive word, if you said like "this server (profanity) rocks!" then it would show up in game like "this server ******* rocks!"

I think you should change the script. If Player A has it off, then he sees any and all profanity that is seen. If Player B has it on, he doesn't see any.

It should be on an individual basis.

Yeah but that's totally different from what we have... My scripting knowledge is lacking as of late... but I think having the script grab everybody else's chat text, check it, and then change it, every some odd seconds... would be kind of laggy.

****ing stupid ass mother****ing crap profanity filter!
