Saving it .gif
Not as wide as a selection of colors. Just more difficult to use in general. |

There is a way around that too. If you save the image as a GIF before you start, then do your stuff and save it does nothing to your image's colors. |

the program just doesnt have many tools that can save you lots of time. take that picture scott posted. sure you could pixel that one by one, but wouldnt you rather do it the smart way and get it done 200 times faster?
the program doesnt even have a magic wand tool. |

I've never used the magic wand tool... in pixel art or brush art. |
well what it does is selects any instances of the same color. either across the whole image or just in the spot that you clicked. also the replacer brush is very handy. this tool replaces any instances of the background color with the foreground color. so you can swap out on shade for another in one click.
or you could do it one pixel at a time. personally id rather do something in 5 minutes than 55 minutes. |
In my life; Quality over quantity.

on a likely unrelated note, many pixel art images have the "palette" down the side of the image. what's the purpose of that? just to show how many colors you used? |

I did this in paint in about 10 minutes but I could have shaded it so much better if I had a better program. |
