That was my old sig since I could not remember where my updated EoA sig was located. After some searching around on my webserver, I found it once again and I have updated my profile accordingly. Sorry if my old sig bothered some of you. :(

Oh, and somthing that is very helpful, make sure that you have no read-only files, the install will freeze on those... x.x

This topic is about 2.21, not 3.0.

AND HOW CAN U BE SURE HE DIDN'T MENT 2? I can move the list with both versions. Anyway, make version 3 the same layout etc. as 2, people only play for less lag because of openGL

Kaimetsu 11-12-2003 05:07 AM

Using OpenGL won't affect lag.

Everyone says :(
Doesn't it handle images better than DirectX?

Kaimetsu 11-12-2003 06:24 PM

It's not merely a case of OpenGL being faster/better/whatever. Both have strengths, and if they were used in two equally well-programmed engines, you'd have difficulty seeing a difference.

Anyway, graphical output isn't at all related to internet latency (the common definition for the word 'lag' in the context of online games).

Unfortunately, The graal dev team constantly hops from project to project not that i can really speak on that subject as i do aswell. But atleast they are productive and more futuristicly speaking when all the young players of graal hit their adult hood they can have a whole bunch of different graal games to play...

hopefully thats a good way of looking at it although i know everyone just wants unixmad and stefan to stick to their word.

keep up the good work stefan and unixmad

When I'm playing CS, there are 3 modes, DX, OpenGL, and software. You can use software, but it eats memory like, something that eats memory alot... o.O

You can try DX, but it doesn't work for some reason... And OpenGL works the best. :)

Yes yes, I ran CS w/ software mode for like a year and was wondering why the graphics were so bad and laggy :P Anyways, i think with graal it doesn't work the same way. When i play My SNES Emulator (with legal ROMs of course, ahem,) on an OpenGL mode, the graphics just run smoother, and i notice the same for graal 3.0

Funny how you spent most of the time before your arrest bashing the hell out of unix and stefan...now you're praising them.
