Yea, he is sleeping while standing, the occasional stretching is something he developed during all these years, it is all so we think he's awake!

o wait is that too obvious....

smokeraider 01-29-2012 03:36 PM

i find that nowere should be a place to idle,
when i logon graal i always think graal kingdom is being played, while i look at the gk tab
Then i enter and see them all idle, its horrible and should not be allowed.

giving me false sence of hope... not cool

BigBear3 01-29-2012 06:36 PM

I find it depressing too, as Cell says

Andre2006 01-30-2012 12:19 AM

Like Cell says. Sure the playercount gets me to play but when I notice I have nobody to talk to I log off.

BigBear3 01-30-2012 10:58 PM

It's always the same people too. Dissapointment :(

Was not aware this game was pure chat based? I was under the impression there were things to actually do. Mining, Fishing, Leveling, etc...

Every server has those characteristics, and many of GK's players play multiple servers. If I were them, I'd want to do those tasks on a more populated server.

I think Idle hotspots are a great thing, you won't always catch the people you want to communicate with online, and people certainly don't use the forums as they're supposed to, by Idling you make yourself available when you normally wouldn't, or you find someone available when they normally wouldn't. And while it's not a conversation pro, leaving a message is.

I would however like to move Idling away from trade houses which are supposed to be filled with active players using the house for it's intended purposes, one could argue that idling inside the trade house allows for better placement for advertising, but setting your nickname to a brief message does a good enough job and to everyone on the server.

While I support the MMT as a social hub, I don't like the Idea of a business being given such a boost, atleast in terms of person's visiting. Allow Idling only on the main gmap, that's my vote.

Glad to see someone else has the same opinion as me. If only the forums were more used. However, trials can't use the forums so being on so people can leave you a message seems to be more trust-able as a resource to get in touch with people whom are on at different times then you. IE, diff timezones.

I completely disagree about main gmap being a better alternative. Leave it to No-Pk zones, or not at all.

Wait just 1 second. So your telling me if there 20 people online, 18 idling. The server is no fun. But if there is 20 people online and 18 people active, but doing completely random activities that it will impact your experience, lets say mining? Only if those other people are participating too. It's not how many people are active at that point, its how many people are actively doing what your doing.

The only non-pk zone, or controlled zone, I could support is inside player houses.
