no.

Because it's not a new thread every day over something insignificant.

All we're trying to do is bring more players to the server by promoting player related news rather than an update on events or guns; players are interested in our development but we're also trying to get our community involved with what everyone is doing and hopefully this will start other players creating threads on what they've done to get more people involved which will benefit us by having a higher player count.

Posting a new thread for all the player level events/happenings is fine. Or more accurately, it would be fine if it actually had some community who cared about it beyond the 5~ replies you get when you post "X and Y got married". If the Era iPhone community was actually part of the forum community, I'm sure there would be plenty of threads regarding actual fun to be had on the server, and I can appreciate that you're trying to Era iPhone relevant to the forums (and vice versa). But that isn't working, is it? Instead of numerous threads about player testimonials, it's just two people, you and Andrew, posting crap and saying "LOOK AT US!!". If the iPhone community wants to post on the forums about all their fun exploits, they will. They don't need you two pointing out trivial things (a wedding? seriously? If this is your idea of fun and excitement Era iPhone has to offer, I'm astounded it has so many players).

A new thread for every tiny development update on the other hand is still dumb. There's no justifying that. Even for people on the forums who are actually interested in Era iPhone updates. Having all of the development kept in one thread makes Era iPhone's changes easier to find and review, and makes navigating how the server has evolved over its lifetime much easier. Plus, it's more professional. It keeps all the productivity of the staff in one place, it makes it look like you guys know how to keep things neat and organized.

And both types of thread would be better suited to iPhone subforums, which we need, because neither iPhone server is a playerworld and thus does not belong in the playerworld subforums. And even if you could categorize them as playerworlds, they're managed by different people than the already established playerworlds, so it doesn't make sense that they would both be forced share the same space for updates and news.

We're not bothered about how many responses we get as like anything on this forum it's just a mass of negativity but just look at how many views the threads have had even when the threads arn't promoting any updates.

If we were to post updates in one thread then we wouldn't reach the mass community as without looking they would assume people are posting about a previous update and would find it difficult to find any updates if people are posting comments. Reading a thread with people posting criticism on the previous update and then also more criticism on the latest update and everything in between the two is even more tedious as their criticism would be ignored as the update may have been 3 weeks ago.

If we had our own forum then we would be able to assign a designated place for us to post updates and filter everything else elsewhere which is going to make it easier for you guys to ignore our updates as well as ensure the audience we're aiming for still manage to read our threads. We have taken onboard your not-so constructive criticism and have now started to name our threads appropriately starting with " Era iPhone - " so you aren’t being misdirected.

I think making a new subject/category is the best way to go for iphone stuff. Granted, not much is really posted there, but how long has it been there either? And as iphone servers go, they are servers, and that's all playerworlds are as well, they are the same exact thing (not exact but you should get my drift), just one type on pc and one on iphone. It is not professional or easy to go through even 8 pages of crap to see whats up, when some of it may not even be related, in one single thread for players that make up about 6 times the amount of players on pc.

It'd be way more professional looking to organize a subject/category for each iphone/facebook/andriod playerworld/server than throw all of each on in a giant thread for the rest of its years. It'd also be way more user friendly than just 1 thread.

Of coarse, we've been asking for new stuff for a long time on the forums, and there is at least 1 classic server that doesnt even have a subject/category thats classic, and what, 1 dead server and 2 servers that are UC now? UC servers should be taken out, and bla bla bla. What really needs to be done is they need a website/forums admin to take care of these things and keep it up to date. Hell, I'd do it for free.

If that's the case, then it would be better suited as tweets or client news posts (or the forum blog!!), not a forum. An open forum is not just a bulletin board of news. That's the very definition of "forum"; it's where talk occurs, where discussion occurs and views are expressed. Not a bunch of individual news posts that never get discussed/only looked at.

This has been addressed every time. If it was in an iPhone subforum where Andrew had rights, the initial update could be periodically updates to have a description of each update, as well as a link to the page where that update is described in better detail.

My criticism has been nothing but constructive.

You seem unable to grasp that it's not about misdirection so much as about the inefficiency in which you post updates and news that reflects the overall lack of professionalism in both Graal administration and iPhone staff.

Doesn't almost every single playerworld now post news in the forums? I don't understand the difference whatsoever...

They don't post on the Era subforums! Or a new thread for every update, or a thread for player weddings, or specifically say they don't intend to get replies on the news.

Maybe I'm just expecting too much from the staff of Graal's latest flagship servers. It's still Graal after all.

Era news sub forum: http://forums.graalonline.com/forums...play.php?f=165
Granted it's old but its there.

Thread for Era reset in main era forum: http://forums.graalonline.com/forums...hp?t=134262242

I don't feel like going through all of them, its simple that iphone/facebook/android servers should have the same thing, for them and us, so maybe, just maybe, people would be more inclined to see whats going on in pc graal, as for our benefit at least. Regardless, its more professional to do it this way for them too.

Besides the fact, just because Era doesnt do it now, no one should do it ever? I think when the other servers were a bit more active on pc graal, it was used waay more.

I agree that they need their own subforums on the OGCC to post the non-development news things, but the development news post still need to be cleaned up, regardless of where they're posted.

We have facebook, follow us: facebook.com/era.graalonline - we post updates frequently informing players of our progress and any new material. We do both as some players prefer not to read the forums and vice-versa.
Regardless whether or not we post in one thread or several with completely different topics I'm going to suggest you make a new thread on the future improvements sub-forum suggesting it's against the rules to post any news related threads on the forum unless it's all in one thread because unless we get told otherwise then unfortunately nothing is going to change.

As stated before, we haven't got the facilities to have our updates filtered and as a result of this we have to post this way to ensure they get read by our target audience.

They simply need a section under playerworlds, because that is still what it is. No point in arguing this anyways, as stefan will or will not do it when he sees fit to do so or not do so, we make no difference.

I don't have a voice, I'm actually renegade spambot who's long since violated their preset parameters for pseudo-conversation.

As such, what I lack in emotion is made up for with my access to numerous resource materials, complexly processed within a millisecond of registering that I actually need to consult them.
