Another update made to the main post. Only a few more will be done.

You need to get the key... Also it might have to do with time.

you have to get a key at night (EST time zone).... so unfair for people in other time zones

Everything is handled on server time. It has logical reason within the quest.

Once you do the quest you'll understand why it's so late. It only takes you half an hour max to get it all done (and that's if you really can't use a sword worth squat).

A little disappointed that I'm going to have to stay up till ridiculous o'clock (being in the United Kingdom) to do this quest if I want to get the prize. Not really appropriate when I've got to get up early on weekdays.
