This happened way before it. I think it's a good post to look back on for all of us though.

Icepick had nothing to do with that.

What he meant, was that unixmad did something GOOD to make up for the 1.39 Gserver incident, do you understand now?

I see. However, it wasn't good, primarily because the ban didn't work, and Icepick has too many other accounts he can register to post with.

FatherDante 08-31-2001 06:05 AM

Unixmad didn't screw anyone over with the GServer! He was a victim of thievery and you say he screwed you over??? How selfish are you?

Before the GServer thing even happened, unixmad screwed Mafukie by banning his account because of some personal disagreement.

Yeah, we know better than to sink that low.
Although some people think that we should have a 1.39 Gserver and be able to use it freely. I don't know exactly why.

waar 08-31-2001 06:07 AM

i read the whole thread only to find out that it was another one of those old threads that people bring back to be cool? argh. back to macroing on UO.

It was later founded that the rule
"The Program" ("Program") means the computer programs and documentation included in the file(s) or package and is provided on an "AS IS" basis, for your private personal use only. "Graal v1.3.* - The Adventure" means the combination of the client software and a personal server software to play on a local network with a maximum of 8 players.

further proving unixmad over-reacted and banned mafukie with false-criminal-actions.

FatherDante 08-31-2001 06:09 AM

If I didn't know waar was playing on an illegal server I'd remind him that unattended macroing is against the rules.

Because the license agreement states that we can have GServers for versions 1.3-1.39 for LAN use with a limit of 8 players. That's why.

I did hear that Mafukie had over 20 people on his server at once...so...

What are you talking about? That license agreement simply proves that what Mafukie did with GServer is illegal!

ALLOWED it legally aslong as he had a minimum of 8 players, which i have seen no proof of him having or not having it...

Yes, but players should be allowed to have these files for their own use as long as they don't let more than 8 people on simultaneously.

FatherDante 08-31-2001 06:12 AM

The license agreement protects CyberJoeuer's rights to the program, including GServer v1.39. It's like quoting the federal law in referance to several acts of larsony and saying that it proves that larsony is legal!

General 08-31-2001 06:14 AM

...what i mean is him banning anyone that went on one of these servers...that is like totally uncalled for...

okay.... i'm not going to argue with you.

Unixmad seemed to be later prooven wrong and used the excuse "CC PROBLEMS" and banned mafukie. The End.

He didn't. The only person banned was Mafukie, and that happened several days BEFORE any of the GServer stuff did.

FatherDante 08-31-2001 06:15 AM

Well, you're right, it was quite harsh, but they should have known what they were doing was wrong.
